Cowbridge Lower School Newsletter 24.11.23

A landmark week for Lower School, where two of our Reception pupils joined in with their very first School Council meeting to represent our views with the WHOLE school! A big, big thank you to Mrs Taylor-John and the School Council for being so welcoming and kind.

Nursery finished painting their Diya lamps to take home to show their families. They also did Diwali dancing in P.E. using chiffon scarves and listening to traditional music 🎢🎡

Nursery started their week with a very Muddy Monday! They explored more of the school grounds and then made stick wands using twigs and leaves πŸ‚πŸŒΏπŸ‚ There were some GIANT puddles around the school that we loved jumping in. They ended up with some very wet socks!

Reception have been learning all about road safety, they learnt how to cross the road using the Green Cross Code. Both Nursery and Reception had a visit from Firefighter Mason who talked about the importance of safety and how the Fire Service keeps us safe.

Reception have also been learning about shapes this week, making big circles in and out of class. They made pictures of their families using shapes and learnt how families are different. They have been learning about day and night, how different lights are made and used, finding lots of lights around the school.
