Health Care Facilities for GWP

This page is currently undergoing maintenance.

Background information

The original 2008 planning application for GWP indicated a health care facility of around a minimum of 646 sqm. To meet the rising demand for health care facilities in Didcot, it’s anticipated that a larger facility (approx. 950 sqm) would be needed. A reserved matter planning consent will have to be submitted for approval of a larger facility.

There are a number of workstreams associated with building a new facility, which include working with Taylor Wimpey to transfer the land to the Vale, continued collaboration between the ICB, Vale of White Horse District Council, Woodlands Medical Centre and the medical developer to enter into legal agreements between the different parties (such as an agreement for lease of the new premises), establish the funding process and ongoing management of the facility and updating the planning permission as above. There are many different crossover elements between the workstreams which are complex and make it challenging to accurately establish a timescale for completion.
