Global Shapers Phoenix The Phoenix Hub aims to eradicate some of Arizona's greatest problems, and have fun while doing so!

Past projects have focused on young professional development and food insecurity across the valley. More recently, the hub has been focused on addressing sustainability through the framework of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. As our membership grows and cycles, our focus will continue to adapt and evolve to anything that can improve the Phoenix region.

SDG World Tour

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

Phoenix Shapers explored the SDGs through our SDG World Tour. Each month, for 17 months, the Phoenix hub focused on one of the SDGs and worked to further that goal in the Phoenix region. By thinking globally and acting locally, Phoenix shapers partnered with local non-profits and organizations to make a more sustainable Phoenix. Each month our impact varies, as the work to address a new SDG changes monthly, from food distributed, to funds raised, from trees planted, to litter removed. The SDG World Tour was completed in March 2024.
