The Story

We have two documentary films and one more on the way, with the most recent being "The Far Green Country 3: Road School." In the film, our family travels the country and visits numerous National Parks and museums as we "Road School" our kids. The story of the first film and how this all started follows below.

In 2015, my wife, 2-year-old son and I spent almost a year traveling through many of the national parks of the western US and Canada in 2015-16. We were struggling through some very tough years of hurt, exhaustion and trauma and knew that we needed to make a significant change that would reunite us as family and re-center us on what we most value in life: adventure, beauty, wildness, solitude, freedom. So we bought an old motorhome and headed out on the road. Our travels took us on a journey of 10K miles to 11 national parks, while we healed, played together and found hope again.

Marriages can go to the brink of desolation and despair, and yet recover and find joy, peace, and connection again. We want to bring this story of hope and adventure to the world. We want to encourage those who are struggling in their marriages to not give up, despite the deep disappointments. We want to inspire those young parents who are overwhelmed to not lose heart, despite the endless dirty dishes, runny noses and sleepless nights. We want to empower those who feel trapped by the frantic pace of our culture, or whose hearts are numbed by the mundane everyday ordinariness, to choose to make a change that will bring life again.

We have hope to offer. Thanks for being a part of the journey.
