Stony Brook Project Design Help us create comforting spaces for families at the new Ronald McDonald House in Stony Brook.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® New York Metro, Kravet LLC, New York Cottages & Gardens, and Hampton Cottages & Gardens Magazines are pleased to announce Stony Brook Project Design.

The new 60,000 sq. ft. Ronald McDonald House in Stony Brook will offer overnight accommodations, comfort, love and hospitality to families caring for their seriously ill or injured children at the hospital. The House is planned to open in 2027—but we need your help.

Interior designers are invited to lend their expertise and creativity to Stony Brook Project Design. Applications open in August 2025 and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2026.

Twelve years ago, the interior design community renovated and refreshed over 70 spaces at the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park. Today, these reimagined spaces bring smiles to over 1,000 families every year.

Check out some of the photos of the kitchens, guest rooms, respite spaces, and laundry facilities in New Hyde Park. As we embark on our journey to create the first Ronald McDonald House in Suffolk County, we draw inspiration from our past and present to help us build a better future.

About RMHC New York Metro

Since 1986, Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro has helped tens of thousands of families with sick children find comfort and support when they needed it most. Many families travel far from home to seek the best care for their children and call Ronald McDonald House their home away from home.

For children facing a serious medical crisis, the love of their family is as strong as the best medicine there is. RMHC New York Metro makes it possible for families to have what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.

Over the last 39 years, RMHC New York Metro has served over 62,000 families in the United States, and from more than 80 countries around the world. Over the years, we have seen the need for our services grow, in particular in Suffolk County.

With more than 104 beds and over 180 pediatric specialists, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital is Suffolk County's only children's hospital and the only Pediatric Level-1 Trauma Center. Over 8,000 young patients are discharged from Stony Brook Children's annually.

To better respond to the growing needs of families in Suffolk County, the new Ronald McDonald House will alleviate financial, emotional, and medical stress associated with caring for a sick child. Together, we are creating a community of care.
