Greater Midwest CPOA The gmwcpoa newsletter

October 2024

Welcome back to another addition of the Greater Midwest CPOA Newsletter. It's been a while since our last newsletter was released. We hope you find this informative and beneficial. If you would like to contribute to our newsletter or have any suggestions, please contact the CPOA Media Relations Committee

From the President of the CPOA

Brothers and Sisters,

I'm going to steal some of what my predecessor put out last year. Thank you for your commitment to the Greater Midwest Chief Petty Officer Association (GMWCPOA). It is an honor to serve alongside outstanding leaders and to be a part of this legacy. There has been a lot of activity since the end of Chief’s Season, and I am looking forward to promoting our efforts this coming year.

We need your involvement to make this organization even better than it already is. Our committees are looking for members and leaders. Please take a look at the bylaws on what each committee is and does and let me know which one you are interested in. Any Active Member can be on a committee. We are currently making some changes to the bylaws (not major ones), but hopefully make them better.

We will have plenty of opportunities for members to get involved in recognizing outstanding leadership, fundraising and community relation projects. Please be on the lookout for these opportunities and contact the committee chairs if you have any questions about how you can serve.

Our website and the store are active, and we hope you find your way there www.greatermidwestcpoa.org to check out what is happening throughout the year. We are looking to have more socials to bring everybody together for good times and the telling of those great sea stories you have. If you have any announcements or information you want to put out to the GMWCPOA please let the Media Relations Committee know.

We are still working on the non-profit recognition for the CPOA. We will bring more updates as they occur. In the meantime, we are looking for fundraising opportunities. If you have any suggestions, please contact the Fundraising Committee.

Lastly, lets congratulate our newest Chief Petty Officers, John Thompson, Justin Henry, Katelyn Mullins, Suzanne Polk, Jay Murray, Devon Dimmitt, Jocab Hyser. and Sergio Moreno. Welcome to the Mess!

The newest additions to the Greater Midwest CPO Mess.

I am expecting great things from our association this year. Please find opportunities to participate and be involved in strengthening the GMWCPOA. Together we can do great things!

Anita
