Cong. Cuellar Announces Two TAMIU Grants Totaling Over $3.6M to Support S.A.N.E. and C.A.M.P. Programs
Congressman Henry Cuellar announced the awarding of two competitive grants totaling $3,658,832 to TAMIU. The grants will sustain the critical Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program through funding of $1,473,960 from Health Resources & Services Administration and the College Assistance Migrant Program funded at $2,184,872 by the U.S. Department of Education.
“We are grateful to Congressman Cuellar for once again helping us to secure these two competitive grants which underscore and expand upon our University’s cherished mission of service. In the greatest of research traditions, our TAMIU SANE III continuation identified a critical community need and developed programming and resources to address that need and elevate our community’s response capability. Likewise, the TAMIU CAMP grant affirms our mission to provide an accessible education to our students that empowers them to succeed. Both programs are stellar examples of collaboration and service.”

International Engagement is Now International Experiences
As the Fall Semester nears, we share news of an important Office name change. The TAMIU Office of International Engagement is now The Office of International Experiences! This name change better reflects the University’s commitment to providing a wide range of international opportunities and supporting our global student community.
Why the Change?
The new name, International Experiences, more accurately represents our mission to enhance students' academic journeys through international opportunities. It highlights TAMIU’s dedication to facilitating study abroad programs, cultural exchanges, and other global experiences, while emphasizing our focus on attracting and supporting international students.
What Does This Mean for You?
- Broader Scope: The Office will continue to offer comprehensive services, including study abroad programs, cultural awareness initiatives, and leadership development in a global context.
- Enhanced Support: We remain committed to assisting international students with enrollment, ensuring a seamless transition and enriching experience here.
- Visibility and Clarity: The new name makes our mission and services more visible and understandable to students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
