Hello - I'm Wil. I've had a blast guiding around 130 creatives through my Short Sessions in South Africa, the Netherlands, and Spain over the past few years. While our online sessions kept things clicking during COVID, we're beyond excited to get back to the good old hands-on, face-to-face training! Whether you prefer the dynamic energy of a Group Session or the personalized attention of a 1-on-1 Session, get ready to seriously level up your photography game. The energy in our previous sessions was incredible! We welcomed a diverse mix of creatives, from professional photographers to those picking up a camera for the very first time, spanning generations from 15 to over 60. More than just learning, they built confidence, gained hands-on experience, and forged lasting friendships – all starting with just their camera.

Die sessies was intens belaai met hope diepte, tegniese aspekte en insig wat my kop goed besig gehou het vir self nog n paar dae na die sessies. Ek was nie een oomblik 'bored' nie. Na jare weg van my kamera, ten spyte van 'n baie druk seisoen by my werk en in ons huishouding, het my oë se lense weer ingezoom in die detail rondom my. Blou is blouer en die son is nie meer 'n challenge deur my lens nie. Refleksies en lyne val my oral op. Die kursus het uitstekende struktuur en met die ondersteunende 'App', is dit baie 'user friendly'. Tien uit tien sal ek dit rate! Wil, vir soveel jaar volg ek jou werk, hoe jy 'in-touch' is met jou onderwerp en omgewing is vir my aangrypend. Jou foto's eindig altyd in 'n storie, belaai met emosie sonder woorde - dis die kuns van fotografie wat jy bemeester. Ek kontak jou binnnekort vir die volgende kursus.
It's the perfect balance between practical and theory. I finally understand the technicalities of taking a photo but i also feel equipped and inspired to make a beautiful shot. Wil is a great teacher, passionate and patient with oodles of experience. You can't go wrong with the Peartree Short Course.
Het gehou van die struktuuur: teorie, opgevolg met denke oor hoe om foto's interessant te maak en dan natuurlik die praktiese toepassing. Lekker informeel, die grootte van die groep baie ideaal. Baie dankie. Baie geniet!
The first session was very informative & clear whilst supported by very cool technology and it got me inspired to start taking my camera with me again wherever I go to get more confident & to start experimenting again ...
It really was an amazing experience. I feel much more confident in using my camera now and I am inspired to grow and play more with it. The theory was well explained and the practical sessions helped a lot to practice that which we learnt. Overall it was an AMAZING experience, thank you so much!
I arrived at the sessions as a wannabe photographer that’s scared of her camera and I left feeling confident and my camera as become a good friend. However what had the greatest impact on me is Wil’s passion for photography and to find beauty in everyday life. It was money and time very well spent!
Die short sessions het my lewe regtig op soveel verskillende vlakke verreik. Jy is ‘n amazing teacher! Jy het my (wat absoluut NIKS van fotosneem af weet nie) so tuis en welkom tussen julle fotograwe laat voel. Die manier waarop jy dit aan gebied het was so lekker. Dit was so casual en intiem en waar ons elkeen net iets van onsself kon bring. Ek het regtig soooooooooo baie geleer!!!! En dit alles op ‘n lekker ‘kuier’ manier saam met nuwe vriende. Daar het ‘n nuwe wêreld vir my oop gegaan…
The Short Sessions were well balanced between theory and practical application. Difficult concepts were broken down into easy-to-understand parts. I am much more comfortable with my camera and inspired to use it!
I feel empowered to use the functions on my camera! This is a first for me!! Not only did Wil explain the theory and thought behind photography but also helped us see and capture the beauty around us! And.... it was fun!!! Thanks Wil!
