Week 2 - Term 2a Life in reception.

Lots of opportunities to write and listen to short sentences. This is a difficult skill. We had to listen, count the words and then write - tricky but tricky good!
One of the rainbow challenges this week is to use the numicon to make different sized cities. It has been lovely to see the class using different sized, discussing odd and even numbers as well as making predictions about using smaller or larger numbers.
Developing our gross motor skills, and friendships. It has been great to see new groups of friends developing as well as a very caring class.
A global problem this week……… the animals were trapped in the ice, but they needed help. However the land was melting too fast. We discussed global warming, as well as coming up with solutions about saving the animals. Some of the children went away to make posters about saving the planet.
Embedding our understanding of maths.
And of course all of this……reading, drawing, exploring, problem solving and mud kitchen baking.
