Who’s this event for?

• Players over 30 years old who want to meet new Fortnite players
• Players who want to play competitively but may be discouraged by the skill gap in other tournaments
• Players who like the idea of the usual F40 teams being shuffled
• Players who want flexibility on what night(s) they can commit to
• Players who enjoy being on mic and in voice chat with their teammates

Here’s how it works:

Sign-up for a single night of 4 games. (Or, sign-up for multiple nights!)

One day before the event we’ll match all participating players according to skill level, using data from prior F40 solo tournaments. We’ll announce the brand new trios in the F40 Discord. Check the thread, find your teammates, and add them on Fortnite!

On Thursday night, join your two teammates in a party. This is your trio for the night! At 9pm sharp (Eastern Time) you’ll play four games together with the top scoring trio being recognized as the overall winner.

Each night brings a different pool players who are available to play, so each week of competition will have new trios!

Requirements for this tourney

• You are at least 30 years old
• You are a member of the F40 Discord
• Your Discord account is linked to your Epic Games Account

You will also need to verify your Discord account with Yunite. We will include step-by-step instructions when the sign-up form goes live.

Frequently asked questions

How do you plan to balance teams?

We are using four seasons of data from F40 Solo League play to calculate a player’s skill level, with the number of eliminations being the primary factor in a “score” that can be compared relative to other players.

After the sign-up period we will 1 ) find the average score in our player pool, then 2 ) multiply it by three to create a Trio Target Score (TTS). Teams will be matched so the sum of their scores matches the TTS as close as possible.

Scores will only be used internally to match trios, so we won't be sharing them. Be assured that we are creating teams with a sincere goal of fairness and will be looking to improve after each event.

I haven’t played any F40 Solo games, can I play too?

Yes. We ask that you give us some additional details about your history with Fortnite. If you have replays or a twitch stream to share, even better. Players that are new to F40 (or haven’t played many games) won’t have a skill score but we will do our best to place you.

I can’t be available for the entire time (9-11pm Eastern). Can I play?

No, we ask that you are able to play all four games together so all trios can stay balanced.

What if I don’t like the teammates I’m assigned with?

But…what if you like your teammates and have a great time? Be willing to take a chance!

We understand that players of varying skill levels have different styles of play. That’s what makes this event fun—the teams that can find how to work together most effectively will be in the best position to WIN.

Can I be a "fill" the night of?

If you haven't signed-up by the deadline (Tuesday before the event) we cannot guarantee that you will be able to participate. Players who use the sign-up after the deadline will be added to a waiting list.

For all players on the waitlist: We ask that you be available on the F40 Discord the day of the event to check for direct messages if needed. More importantly, make sure you have met the requirements for the tournament in advance!

Can you match me with my friend? Please?

Unfortunately, no, we won't be able to handle any requests to match players together.

Let us know right away! We will also have substitute players ready to step-in to ensure we have three players on each trio.
