Calming Rhythms Adobe Stock Creative Challenge February 2024

The Calming Rhythms creative trend encapsulates an effort to regard mental and emotional health as essential to the well-being of individuals and societies. We asked our talented community go create images for this Creative Trend following inspiration from our curated gallery.

Starblue

Keywords: background, floral, flowers, purple, waves. Those keywords are OK. I would have moved "floral" out of the top ten, and maybe used something related to the mood of the image (romantic, calmed, relax...).

The color palette for this image works really well, as purple and golden create a luxurious feel to the image. The composition leaves some room on one side for adding text, since those wavy lines are not too distracting. It could work better as a background if the aspect ratio was a bit closer to 3:2 or 4:3, since it is always easier to crop to adapt to a wider format than to a tighter one, especially if the elements are apart and will be cut bit that crop.

natalianiul

Keywords: rainbow, dripping jelly, vibrant colors, translucent, playful. I would avoid compound keywords, such as "vibrant colors" or "dripping jelly". Even though it may describe your image, unless a customer searches exactly for "dripping jelly" your image won't appear on search results. "Colorful", "Vibrant", "Reflections", "Cristal", "translucent"... would be better options.

This is a nice background. I do not get the title of the image, "A minimalist rainbow created by thinly spread layers of colored jelly", since for me it looks more like some sheets of glass with colorful reflections. But I really like the color scheme and how the texture of the ground plays with the colorful reflections. I can see this as a background for a phone app or a website.

elgeeko

Keywords: wave, 3d, landscape, ocean, calm sea. I miss "neon" as a keyword, and I would avoid "calm sea" as a unique keyword. "Minimalism" or "loop" would be good keywords to have there too.

This is a nice video (link to the video). At first, I had issues with its square aspect ratio, but then I realized that the problem is with its size, since 1080x1080 will limit the use of customers who may want to have it as a vertical or horizontal video. In any case, I think it goes very well with the challenge topic: the motion is not too abrupt, so it can be used as a background animation. The synthwave look is cool, and the fact that it loops is always a plus and adds to the usability of the asset.

webkis

Keywords: doodles, pink, aqua, shapes, 3D. I rather use "abstract" than "doodles", since doodles links more to hand drawn.

This is an interesting and suggestive image. It is just an abstract form, but the wavy shapes, the kind of organic patterns of the dots, and the vibrant and minimal color palette work very well. I would have preferred to have the element fully framed on the image, instead of being prolonged outside since it would have been easier to adapt to the customer's needs in framing.

Simi Jois

Keywords: healing, self-care, slowing-down, meditative, zen. Even though the keywords are ok, I miss some descriptive keywords, such as "tea", "cup" or "copper".

Such a minimalistic and effective image! The composition is very good, and the way the concentric circles created by the plate and the cup aren't perfectly centered adds dynamism and interest to an otherwise still image. The color combination of different shades or golden tones helps to that zen and minimalist mood, and the contrast of textures of the different elements rounds up the image.

synthetick

Keywords: abstract, light, vj, party, loop. Good use of keywords here. Maybe "disco" could be a good option to add, maybe removing "abstract" or "vj" from the top. But the selection is good anyway 😉

(Link to the video) Calming Rhythms is a topic that lends itself very well for videos. This one is mesmerizing, although the movement is a bit too fast for my taste; slower movements can be more interesting for using the video as a background. Good use of color, and having a vertical video that loops will make it very handy for Instagram stories, for example.

Joanna Nixon

Keywords: Vibrant ,Flowing, Abstract, Ethereal, Colorful. Keywords are ok. Maybe add something as "silk", "gauze" or "fabric".

The wavy flowing pattern from the fabric works well with the topic of the Calming Rhythms, since they look repetitive but organic, and the color scheme with natural tones creates a sense of well being that, even with the intense orange, doesn't get too exciting and reinforces the calming part 🙂

AnaLarrosa

Keywords: water, stones, zen, relaxation, serenity. Good keywords, nothing to add here.

Nothing says calming or zen as a bunch of stones on top of each other 🙂. But this image is effective: the wavy water adds some motion and dynamism to the image, making it feel more real. The light is great, with a warmth that contrasts the color scheme. The composition is good, with copyspace on the side, so it is handy for our customers.

Henry_AI_Miller

Keywords: spheres, floating, dreamy, ethereal, bokeh. Nice keywords. I would have changed "spheres" for "bubbles", since those shapes remind me more of bubbles or droplets than spheres (in my mind, spheres are perfectly round and regular shapes).

(Link to the video). The color palette is really nice in this video, with those pinkish purples and different shades of blue, creating that dreamy and relaxing mood. The motion is smooth and organic. However, it misses one of the things I always like in computer-generated videos, which is looping. A looping video is way more helpful for customers; another option is having a longer video because those 8 seconds can be too short for some customers to use.

Sun

Keywords: Fluid, Abstract, Waveform, Psychedelic, Mountains. I don't like including mountains in the keywords. It could be a "maybe" if it was not on the top ten, but it is definitively not a good fit for the most relevant ones. "Colorful", "dots", "digital" or even "sound waves" could work better.

The waveform looks like a digital visualization of audio waves, and I see this image being used as a banner or header image in a website or blog about technology and/or sound. The color scheme is interesting, creating the effect of a warm light coming from the upper right corner; colorful, but not strident.
