End of 2024 School Year
The last day of the school year for all students and teachers is Wednesday 18 December 2024, and the school will be closed from 3:30pm on this day.
Thursday 19 December 2024 and Friday 20 December 2024 are School Development Days and as teachers opted to undertake their professional learning across four x three hour evenings in lieu of these two days, there will be no staff on site during these days.
Our school office closes at 3:30pm on Wednesday 18 December 2024.
School Behaviour Support and Management Plan
Under the Department of Education's updated Behaviour and Engagement Policy, schools are required to create a School Behaviour Support and Management Plan (SBSMP). This plan will serve as the operational document schools review annually to outline how they meet the requirements of the Student Behaviour Policy.
Included here is our draft SBSMP. We value your input on our draft SBSMP and would love to hear your feedback before it is finalised and included on the school’s website at the start of Term 1, 2025.
Please email your suggestions to kingscliff-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au by 15 January 2025.
Thank you for contributing to our commitment to fostering a positive and supportive school environment.

2025 Timetable Change
We are excited to announce that starting in 2025, our school will be transitioning from a 4-period to a 5-period day. This decision, made in consultation with both staff and students, aims to increase the frequency with which teachers see students over a fortnight. This will help build deeper relationships and allow teachers to better understand and support each student’s learning needs. While each period will be shortened from 75 to 60 minutes, senior students will benefit from more time with their teachers for focused instruction and personalised guidance. We believe this change will create a more engaging and supportive learning environment for all students.
Our 2025 Bell Times are as follows:
Get ready for ATAR and IBAS 2024
There's just over a week until the release of ATAR and IBAS results! Congratulations to your students and thank you for supporting them throughout their final year of school. Here’s some important information as we count down to 18 December.
What your students need to know
Tuesday 17 December: UAC webinar
Join us live at 6pm Tuesday 17 December as we explain how students can review their UAC application after receiving their ATAR. We'll give advice on handling multiple offers, fine-tuning preferences and making the most of adjustment factors. Students can ask us questions in the comments throughout the session. Watch live on Facebook, Instagram or the UAC Digital YouTube channel.
Wednesday 18 December: ATAR and IBAS release
· 9am: We will send students an SMS or email with a link to log in and download their ATAR Advice Notice. They will need their Year 12 student number and UAC PIN to log in.
· 10am: We will email IBASs to NSW and ACT IB students who have submitted UAC applications.
· 11.59pm: Deadline for students to change their course preferences for consideration in the December Round 2 offers on 23 December.
Next steps: Of course, once they have their ATAR, students may ask 'what happens now?' So we've put together a step-by-step guide on what to do once you've got your ATAR.
CredFolio: NSW HSC students can sign up to our free digital wallet, CredFolio. They'll be able to store their ATAR there and they'll have the option to share it with you or others via a secure link. How to sign up to CredFolio
Student numbers and PINs
If students have forgotten their Year 12 student number, they should contact NESA/ACT BSSS or their school. If they've lost their UAC PIN, call UAC on (+61 2) 9752 0200.
ATAR Enquiry Centre
If HSC students have specific questions about the calculation of their ATAR, they can call UAC's ATAR Enquiry Centre on (+61 2) 9119 5012 from 8.30am on 18 December. The centre will also be open on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 December.
Christmas Carols
Ruby, Maizy and Lily did an outstanding job representing Kingscliff High School at the Lion's Christmas Carols. We are so very proud of all of the hard work that they did in preparation and the grit that they showed performing in the rain. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Ms. Broad for her exceptional support and dedication in assisting the students.
The following is an email from Geoff Dart who organises and runs the carols event every year that was sent to Ms. Broad:
It was so wet at the carols last night. We pondered several times about closing it down, but the audience were enjoying it regardless of the rain, so we kept it going. Your 3 girls were marvellous and performed really well. I was really impressed with Lily 'wow' what a great voice. She hit all those big notes, and the audience were amazed at the performance. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in to preparing those girls.
Year 10 Child Studies Christmas Themed Activities
Year 10 Child Studies students did an amazing job decorating Christmas cookies. Yum!
PCYC's Perfect Presence Program Graduates
Last week some of our Year 7 students graduated from PCYC's Perfect Presence program.
PCYC provides a suite of experiential learning activities aimed to develop emotional intelligence, life skills and cognitive engagement to reconnect students with a sense of belonging, self-awareness, self-belief, and a love of learning that ultimately are aimed to re-engage students and increase wellbeing.
Origami Tonakai and Santa Kuroosu
Japanese classes made amazing origami tonakai and Santa Kuroosu. Great Job!
