Upper Sixth Leavers' Dinner

Last Friday evening, we bid an emotional, final farewell to our Upper Sixth students, leaving to begin Study Leave ahead of their A Levels. Parents joined them for drinks on the terrace, before they enjoyed their Leavers' Dinner in the beautifully decorated Theatre.

Gymnastics Success

Last weekend, the BSGA Acro & Tumbling Nationals were held at Fenton Manor in Stoke on Trent, against all British schools in the UK and Northern Ireland.

Our gymnasts won their regional event to be able to participate in this competition and we are so proud of them all. After some amazing performances, Year 8's Zarina came 7th out of 24 gymnasts in the U14 Tumbling, and our U14 Girls Pair, consisting of Year 8's Ava and Year 9's Amelia, came 5th out of 12 pairs.

Congratulations to you all!

Year 9 Geography Trip

Year 9 visited Ashburnham to explore the importance of living sustainably. The students explored the importance of healthy soil and made flat bread and humous using local ingredients. The highlight of the visit though, was foraging. Mile Irving, a world-renowned forager, encouraged the students to sample a range of edible plants. Great fun was had by all!

The trip yesterday was interesting and very inspiring. It taught us the importance of our place on the planet, to ensure we are doing our part for the preservation of the earth for future generations. The day showed us how we could use the resources around us to live, rather than the imports from other countries.
As well as the foraging, it was fun to have a closer look at the organisms in our soil and microorganisms in our compost and their purpose and necessity in preserving the earth and how micro plastic is a threat to the smaller creatures in our soil, such as worms. Molly, Year 9
