- Our thanks to the over 700+ students that took part in this year’s Make a Difference Day at Las Palmas Nature Trail and the Azteca Neighborhood Saturday...that’s how we make a difference.
- Last week, our friends at Texas Community Bank let us know that they’re banking on TAMIU with a $1 Million Gift to the TAMIU Banking Academy. Details below.

- Do you have friends and family currently enrolled at Laredo College? For the third year in a row, we’re hosting a TAMIU Open House at LC, so encourage them to come by. We’ll be there sharing transfer information and more this Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. outside the Kazen Center.
- TAMIU’s Phi Kappa Phi is hosting a Faculty Books and Creative Showcase this week at the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library and our Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues.

TAMIU Make A Difference Day 2024
Over 700+ TAMIU students, faculty, staff and alumni took part in this year's Make a Difference Day held Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Las Palmas Nature Trail and the Azteca Neighboorhood.
Organized through TAMIU’s Student Government Association’s LOVE Committee and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Engagement, these initiatives also encourage students to explore ways to leave a lasting impact on their community. The event counted on the support of the City of Laredo, Keep Laredo Beautiful, Rotary International, ARCA Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, 7Brew Coffee, and the University's Housing and Residence Life.

For the third year in a row, TAMIU Open House at LC, an opportunity for Laredo College students to explore their transfer opportunities at their hometown University is happening Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. outside LC’s Kazen Center.
All Majors Career Fair Set for Wednesday, Oct. 23
The University's All Majors Career Fair is happening Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Student Center Ballroom.

TAMIU to Celebrate Wicked Wellness Week
Wicked Wellness Week is an annual event that brings awareness and knowledge on topics related to wellness, including preventative and mental health. The celebration is happening Monday, Oct. 28 - Thursday, Oct. 31.
TAMIU Phi Kappa Phi to Host Faculty Books and Creative Works Showcase Oct. 21 - 25
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 296 of TAMIU will host “The Love of Learning: TAMIU Faculty Books and Creative Works Showcase” October 21 - 25, 2024 in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library De la Chica Room.
The display of texts and art by Phi Kappa Phi members will be open to the public from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. This event is co-sponsored by Phi Kappa Phi and TAMIU’s Office of Research and Sponsored Projects. An opening ceremony will be held at noon on Monday, October 21 in the Killam Library Colonnade and will feature guest speaker Dr. Colleen S. Harris, Dean of the Killam Library.
