Our Week at Tir Morfa
This week students in Dosbarth Aled have been considering what makes a good friend and chose the qualities that are most important to them as individuals.
Famau enjoyed meeting the beautiful buddy dog, Mouse.
We enjoyed listening to each other in our sensory music circle session.
Enfys learners were requesting ‘more’ of enjoyable objects during a story in the sensory room.
This week Dosbarth Alwen have continued to learn about “growing up” They have been learning about what babies need. They played with the dolls, washed, dried and dressed them. They also started to make their own baby books with photos from when they were babies and what they look like now they have grown!
Another busy week in Haul with lots of learning through fun activities.
We have been using different techniques to create art pieces like 'A bird on a wire' and 'A bird in flight.'
This week in Dosbarth Tegid they have been learning about fast and slow. We have had lots of fun activities exploring movement and recognising the symbols when labelling. Da iawn some great work!!
Tryfan pupils walked around the new Bodelwyddan Castle country path before visiting Ysbyty Glan Clwyd to see where to go when catching the public bus and visiting the Outpatients Department.

Attendance Information for Parents and Carers

As part of our continued focus on attendance this year, we have decided to share attendance data regularly with parents and carers through our newsletter. Attendance remains one of our school priorities, and we believe that sharing this information helps keep everyone informed and working together to support our pupils. In Wales, the Welsh Government defines good attendance as 95% or above. Attendance of 90% or below is classed as persistent absence. These benchmarks are used nationally across schools in Wales. We would like to reassure families that we fully recognise that many pupils at YTM have significant health or medical needs which may make it difficult, or sometimes impossible, to meet these targets. As a school, we understand this and want to be very clear that no parent or carer should feel pressured or judged where absences are due to genuine health-related reasons. Our intention in sharing attendance data is simply to ensure transparency and awareness of our overall school attendance and the expectations placed upon us as a school. We value our strong partnership with families and appreciate your continued support in helping pupils attend whenever they are able to do so. If you would like to discuss attendance in relation to your child, please do not hesitate to contact the school - we are always happy to work together to provide the best possible support.
