What's New at Miller Marriott
Introducing the 2025 Miller Marriott Charitable Foundation Charity Home
The Miller Marriott Charitable Foundation was established by the owners of Miller Marriott Construction Co. with the commitment to elevating essential awareness and financial support for the substantial needs of the local community.
By leveraging the talents and expertise of Miller Marriott Construction Co., their land development and construction firm, along with the gracious participation of trusted suppliers, vendors, and contractors, the Foundation is thrilled to introduce the first MMCF Charity Home.
The Miller Marriott Charitable Foundation is working closely with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and local organizations to make a tangible impact on mental health & illness in our community. Miller Marriott Construction Co. has donated land, design services, construction management, marketing, and sales to sell this beautiful custom home.
Our goal? To give back to the community by helping raise much-needed funding and awareness in support of local charitable organizations that provide valuable mental health programming and services in Southeastern Wisconsin. But the donation of the sale of this home is just the beginning.
The home itself will also serve as a vehicle to host a series of events that educate, boost awareness, and reduce the stigma plaguing individuals and families impacted by the challenges of mental health conditions.
Located in the new Beacon Hill development next to St. Johns Northwestern Academy in Delafield, the 2025 Charity Home is a newly built modern Victorian-style home. The architectural details and craftsmanship balance the classic elegance of Victorian architecture with contemporary functionality and aesthetics. From ornate moldings to timeless trims, the meticulous attention to detail adds richness and authenticity to this four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home.

Featured Home: The Madison
The Madison is a one-of-a-kind lake home. Once inside, there is a natural gravitation to the lake through the open foyer, a gourmet kitchen, and a flexible living area with a retractable glass wall and a porch with its own fireplace. The kitchen is the heart of this home and functions in a way that would allow the homeowner to cook and entertain. It was essential that the lake views, particularly the beautiful sunsets, could be enjoyed from the kitchen. Never feeling too large, but at the same time being comfortable when filled with friends and family.
A classic home with an elevation as if it has always been rooted in that location.
6" Rift White Oak flooring sets a tone of simple elegance, enhanced by warm wood beams, millwork, and shelving.
The classic white kitchen, highlighted by textured Zellige tile, is beautifully accented with warm, large-scale metal and crystal fixtures.
A floor-to-ceiling fireplace with patterned tile commands attention in this classic yet modern space, grounded by painted white shiplap and accented with tasteful pops of classic black windows and doors.
The classic yet clean aesthetic continues seamlessly throughout the home, echoed in the bathrooms with elegant plumbing fixtures, sophisticated tiles, and refined cabinetry.
The home exterior welcomes you with its flower boxes, cedar shake siding, cozy covered porch, and rich black doors.

Interior Design Spotlight
As we enter 2025, our talented interior designers are excited to share the trending styles that you'll want to keep an eye on this year!
Design Trend: Wallpaper
From Kristi Kontny
Wallpaper is poised to make a significant statement in interior design for 2025, with trends focusing on bold patterns, innovative materials, and creative applications. Designers are leaning into wallpaper not just as a backdrop but as a centerpiece, using it to bring depth, texture, and personality to a space.
Key trends to watch include:
1. Maximalist Patterns: Vibrant, oversized florals, abstract designs, and intricate geometrics will dominate, offering a dynamic way to infuse energy and character into any room.
2. Natural Inspirations: Organic motifs, such as botanical prints and earthy textures, will remain popular, helping to blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces.
3. Textured and Dimensional Designs: Wallpapers featuring grasscloth, silk, and embossed finishes are expected to grow in popularity, creating tactile experiences that add luxury and sophistication.
4. Sustainable Options: Eco-friendly wallpapers made from recycled materials or printed with low-VOC inks are on the rise, aligning with the increasing demand for sustainable design solutions.
5. Murals and Custom Creations: Bespoke wallpaper designs, from personalized murals to unique hand-painted looks, are becoming the go-to for clients looking for one-of-a-kind interiors.
6. Unexpected Applications: Wallpaper isn’t just for walls anymore. Designers are exploring its use on ceilings, furniture, and even as framed art, pushing creative boundaries in spatial design.
In 2025, wallpaper is no longer a supporting player in design – it’s the star of the show, offering endless possibilities for crafting spaces that are as expressive as they are inviting.
The Art of Color Drenching
From Megan Baron
Color drenching is the design technique of applying a single color, or a very limited palette, throughout an interior space. The objective is to create a unified, immersive atmosphere by enveloping all elements—floors, ceilings, woodwork, and walls—in the same hue. While soft pastels certainly have their place, we are particularly drawn to the resurgence of deep, jewel-toned shades such as earthy forest greens, rich chocolate browns, and bold crimson hues like oxblood, black cherry, merlot, and burgundy. These striking colors are making a strong comeback in interior design, and one of the most effective ways to incorporate them is through the art of color drenching. Don't hesitate to embrace boldness in color and design in 2025.
Color drenching has the power to make a room feel more intimate, sophisticated, and intentional. It also offers a practical solution for enhancing small spaces, making them feel more expansive and serene. This effect is especially amplified when the ceilings are painted, which is recommended for rooms with high ceilings. In smaller spaces, this technique can create the illusion of greater height.
Here are just a few reasons why color drenching is a trend worth embracing:
- It opens up the space
- It directs attention away from corners
- It creates a cozy, cocoon-like atmosphere
- It highlights and elevates your furniture
Technology Integration
From Mag Miller
When building a new home, you should always consider home functionality. By integrating thoughtful design and cutting-edge technology, a home can be far more efficient and better support multi-generational use. Home technology products have improved dramatically over time and are now more user-friendly than ever before. Some smart home technology systems that should considered include:
1. Voice Integration: Plan for the use of voice-controlled devices, such as Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri, for easy and immediate control of multiple home systems.
2. Automated Lighting: Commonly known as smart lighting, it allows users to control their lights remotely using a mobile app, voice assistance, or a remote control. Motion-detecting sensor lights for pathways and rooms can also enhance safety and activate lighting based on specific usage.
3. Climate Control: Devices such as smart thermostats and Wi-Fi programmable thermostats, adapted by Miller Marriott as one of our standards, can significantly lower heating and cooling costs while providing efficient and personalized comfort.
4. Safety and Monitoring: Examples include video-capable doorbells that enhance security (a Miller Marriott standard), surveillance cameras, and various integrated monitoring systems.
I personally appreciate the various monitoring systems available on the market that are both informative and protective in nature. For example, carbon monoxide detectors that can alert both residents and emergency services when elevated levels are present, or the water-monitoring device called “Flo,” created by Moen that not only monitors and reports water usage to the owner but can shut off the water supply remotely to prevent catastrophic water damage.
Although smart home technology can sometimes seem intimidating, it offers many worthwhile advantages for homeowners, and it is advisable to embrace the changes rather than resist them. Once you start enjoying the many benefits of seamless home technology, I promise you will soon begin to wonder how you ever lived without it.

Home Maintenance Tip
Think carefully about what goes down your drains.
When you're cleaning up after a family meal, you might think your garbage disposal can handle those leftover chicken wing bones or eggshells from your breakfast casserole. However, that's not the case. Disposing of the wrong items in your sink or garbage disposal can result in costly clogs. These clogs can form not just in your house's pipes but also in your septic tank or sewer crock pump.
Avoid putting these items down your drains: eggshells, grease/fats/oils, coffee grounds, bones, uncooked pasta, batter, onion skins, potato peels, or nuts.
If your garbage disposal has developed an unpleasant odor, a simple solution is to drop an orange peel inside and switch it on. Before you know it, your home will smell wonderfully citrusy!
Similarly, there are items you should never flush down your toilet to prevent clogs. This DO NOT FLUSH list includes: so-called flushable wipes (they're not truly flushable), cotton swabs/balls, cigarette butts, medications, sanitary products, or paper towels.
By following these simple tips, you can save yourself both time and money by avoiding unexpected repairs!
