Snow procedures
As the weather is due to get colder, we will be sending home our snow procedures. We will do all that we can to remain open during periods of snow. A message to parents will be sent by 8:15am to notify you if the school will be open. This will also appear as a pop up on the website.
Remembrance Day 2024
On Monday 11th November, our PLT represented the school at The Knightswick Centre. I was very proud of our pupils, who demonstrated so much respect and then after the service, asked some thought-provoking questions. Meanwhile, back at school, Mr White, our Humanities leader, led the Remembrance assembly. This is always a time for reflection and appreciation for those who have fought in previous wars and those that continue to do so..
Goodbye to Mrs Payne
Next week, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Payne. She is pursuing her career in the special educational needs sector at Glenwood and would like to thank her for all her hard work, dedication and support for our pupils during her time at the school.

The Harbour really is an exciting place to be as a child (or adult). From construction, to making cakes out of sand, riding a bike, reading a book, drawing and mark making, creating works of art, playing in the beach hut, climbing, den building, the EYFS team make this a special and inviting place for our children to thrive. Our Year 4 play buddies have been supporting our EYFS children at lunchtime with their language development and communication skills! I see some teachers in the making…

Anti-bullying week
This week, our pupils took part in Anti-bullying week. Anti-bullying week focuses our attention on the process of identifying and combating bullying. It helps our children to identify signs of bullying behaviour and how to report this. Every pupil can identify 5 trusted adults and many shared these in assembly. In assembly, we spoke about how we should speak to each other in a polite manner and the impact shouting has on someone. We spoke about our silent cues and how they help to keep a calm, respectful environment. Our pupils stated that shouting makes them feel sad, embarrassed, upset, nervous and appreciate our silent cues and no shouting approach. Our pupils understand that you earn respect by showing respect.
Anti-bulling ambassadors (ABSs)
Each class have now voted for their anti-bullying ambassadors. They are very excited to take on their new, important role. Photos of the children will be on next week’s edition.
Odd sock day 2024
On Monday, our pupils came to school wearing odd socks. We spoke about the significance of wearing odd socks, promoting difference and celebrating that we are all unique and that is something to be proud of.
Our Anti-Bullying policy is available on our website. We teach our children that bullying is when the same hurtful thing, by the same child, or group, happens Several Times On Purpose.
We insist that our children, who feel that they may be being bullied: Start Telling Other People. We remind them by the acronym STOP. We take bullying very seriously at LPPA. If you ever feel that your child is being bullied, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Please download the parent and carer pack to support your child at home.

The two Johns are back! On Monday 18th November at 9-10:30am the two Johns will be delivering a live workshop for parents to attend. This is one workshop you just have to attend this year- you won’t regret it! Please ensure you have returned the reply slip by Monday morning. Thank you.

The children had a brilliant time visiting the Sealife centre, Southend and Westcliff Synagogue. The children travelled by train, an important life skill that we develop during the children’s time at LPPA. The children loved learning about the sea creatures and Judaism. Here’s some photos of them on their visit.
