Project Description:
The renovation of the Baltimore Ravens’ 20,000-square-foot Under Armour Performance Center has redefined excellence in professional sports training. Designed to reflect the Ravens’ values, the upgraded facility fosters team connection, mental clarity and physical recovery — all within a setting that balances sophistication with functionality. The result is a word-class facility that was delivered on an aggressive five-month construction schedule without disrupting ongoing operations. Guided by input from players, coaches and staff, the reimagined space significantly expands the team’s wellness and recovery capabilities. Upgrades include doubling the size of the hydrotherapy suite and training room, redesigning position meeting rooms and adding specialized areas for medical care and nutrition. Biophilic design is also a defining element of the renovation. Inspired by the raven’s natural habitat, the hydrotherapy suite features a warm wood ceiling, stone-look porcelain tile and a dramatic skylight over the lap pool, creating a spa-like atmosphere supporting recovery and wellbeing. To enhance spatial flow and efficiency, spaces are organized along a central spine with looping circulation that eliminates dead ends. The locker room entry was reoriented to minimize foot traffic through the hydrotherapy suite, while a dedicated circulation path in the training room separates treatment areas from active zones. The main entry for players coming off the field was expanded into a new, spacious nutrition and information hub to improve accessibility and functionality. A 135-foot operable glass wall opens to the practice field, providing daylight and unobstructed views, while a private clinic offers discreet care for players and staff.
