Graduation is just around the corner, and we want to make sure you have everything you need to get there smoothly.

This is the first of three monthly newsletters packed with important updates, deadlines, and event details.

Apply to Graduate

For Spring and Summer 2026 graduates: Apply through MyElmhurst by April 15 at 4:30 p.m. to ensure your name appears in the program and on the videoboard at Commencement.

Log in to MyElmhurst → Self-Service → Graduation Overview → Apply to begin your application.

Fall 2025 Grads

Elmhurst University holds one Commencement Ceremony each year in May. All mid-year graduates are invited to participate in the May 2026 Commencement Ceremony, which will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026. More details about the ceremony, regalia, ticketing, and deadlines will be shared via your Elmhurst University email at the start of the spring term along with future editions of the Graduate Gazette. Please be sure to monitor your EU email for important updates from commencement@elmhurst.edu.

Commencement Schedule

Both commencement ceremonies will take place at the Rosemont Theatre at 5400 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018 Click Here for more information about the Rosemont Theatre.

Friday, May 22nd

11:00 a.m. | First Commencement Ceremony

3:00 p.m. | Second Commencement Ceremony

Ceremonies will no longer be separated for graduate and undergraduate students. Each ceremony will include both groups and will be organized by academic school. Students will receive their ceremony time at a later date.

Summer Pending Graduates

Graduating students who wish to participate in May commencement and have 2.00 or less requirements to complete Summer term at Elmhurst University can fill out a

Commencement ceremony over the years.

Ticketing

Tickets will be required for all Elmhurst University Commencement ceremonies. Each graduate will receive an equal amount of guest tickets for friends and family. The amount of tickets will be disclosed in future communications. All tickets will be electronic and will be scanned at the door. : Tickets can be requested by the graduate only through the Elmhurst University ticketing system on Tassel. Graduates will receive a link via email when ticketing opens.

Grad Finale & Senior Send-off Events

Thursday, May 7th | 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Founders Lounge Frick Center

Senior Send-off

Friday, May 8th | 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. | at Founders Lounge Frick Center

Mark your calendar for the spring Grad Finale and Senior Send-off events. The Grad Finale Event is a one-stop shop for commencement needs. Graduates who plan to attend should set aside 45 minutes for the event.

What to Expect at the Grad Finale Event:

  • Regalia Pickup: Pick up your previously ordered cap, gown, hood and tassel. Herff Jones staff will be on site to assist and ensure that you receive the proper regalia for your ceremony.
  • Latin honors tassels: Undergraduates earning Latin Honors (Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude) can pick up their honors tassel.
  • Institutional Advancement Table: Sign up to receive information about all things EU and purchase your philanthropy cord at the Institutional Advancement table to give back while looking great!
  • Graduate Admissions: Undergraduates receive a FREE graduate-course voucher just for stopping by.
  • WCCPE Table: Get expert career and professional advice to help launch your post-grad journey
  • Student Financial Services: Get support and guidance for loan repayment and any lingering financial questions.
  • Letters of Gratitude: Write a thank-you note to a professor, advisor or staff member who made a difference.
  • Selfie Station: Snap a fun selfie with your friends!
  • Professional Photographer: Get a professional headshot or a regalia photo taken on the spot.
  • Answer your commencement and ticketing questions: The commencement team from the Office of the Registrar will be present to assist in answering commencement ticket questions.

Commencement Checklist

Check Your Progress

Applied to Graduate? Check your degree audit under "My Progress" on Self-Service. Degrees are conferred upon successful completion of any remaining coursework.

Update Address on Self-Service

Diplomas are mailed to the address we have on file. View and update this address via Self-Service under "User Profile."

Complete Tassel Registration

All graduates must complete the Tassel Registration form if they intend to participate in the upcoming commencement ceremony. Information regarding Tassel Registration will be shared in upcoming newsletters and email updates.

Order Your Regalia

All graduates need to purchase their regalia in order to be allotted guest tickets for the 155th Annual Commencement Ceremony. If you are borrowing or already have your regalia, please contact commencement@elmhurst.edu to have your tickets manually assigned.

Reserve Lodging

Confirm with your family and guests about making reservations for lodging. If you're having trouble finding lodging in the Rosemont area, search nearby cities and towns including Chicago, Oakbrook Terrace, Elmhurst, Schaumburg, Des Plaines and Arlington Heights, as well as other locations within 30 miles.
