Introducing a New City-Wide Event

Join us on Sunday 22nd June for the very first Lighthouse Wellbeing Walk, a brand-new event bringing Plymouth together to celebrate movement, mental health, and community spirit. This inspiring walk marks the launch of what we hope will become a much-loved annual tradition — combining a shared sense of purpose with the chance to experience Plymouth in a whole new way.

The Routes

The Lighthouse Wellbeing Walk 2025 features four unique walking challenges, each designed to cater to different age groups, fitness levels, and goals — but all starting from the same place: From the Plymouth Argyle Football Ground into an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The 1-mile walk is short, fully accessible, and perfect for families with small children, pushchairs, or anyone looking for a gentle, inclusive option. The 5-mile challenge is a relaxed yet rewarding route ideal for casual walkers or groups of friends wanting to enjoy the atmosphere and sights at a steady pace. For those after a more active experience, the 10-mile route offers a moderately challenging walk through some of Plymouth’s most scenic and historic areas. Finally, the 20-mile route is designed for experienced walkers or fundraising enthusiasts ready to push themselves for a full day’s adventure with a purpose.

Each challenge will be clearly marked, supported by route marshals, and will include rest points, water stations, and check-in zones — all helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, no matter which distance you choose.

Round Trip = 1.4 miles

Route 2 - The Shrimp Statue (Barbican)

Round Trip = 5 miles

Route 3 - The Beach at Saltram

Entry Details

Entry costs just £20 for adults, £10 for under-18s, and is free for children under 5. All funds raised will support local mental health charities and wellbeing programmes in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Your steps will help light the way for those in need — one mile at a time.

Event Atmosphere

While the focus is on the walk itself, there will be a small selection of food and drink options available at the start and finish area, including some free ice cream for those looking to treat themselves after their challenge. It’s a relaxed, informal setting — just a chance to enjoy the day, refuel, and connect with others taking part.
