The Best Celebrity outfits from Beyoncé’s Renaissance Film Premiere By: Gabriella Volpe

First rising to fame in the late 1990's as the lead singer in the girl group, Destiny's Child, Beyoncé has only gained more fame and followers. Selling over 200 billion records as a solo artist, making her one of the best -selling music artists of all time. Billboard has ranked her at the thirty-seventh greatest artist of all time, while RIAA recognized her as the Top Certified Artist of the early 2000s decade. Having all of these accomplishments is one thing, but to make a movie off of one of her best selling tours to date, is a greater accomplishment. Blowing the Swifties out of the water in equal amounts of fashion, fame, and music quality, Beyoncé has eaten and left no crumbs. Without further ado,let us start off with the Queen Bee herself, Beyoncé.

Making her first debut on her own silver carpet, Beyoncé set the bar for the futuristic theme that she had implemented. Being the queen that she is, Beyoncé wears a metallic gown, created and tailored by Versace. The gown has a low V shaped drop , and 'wings' that accentuate the chest. The gown is respectably tight fitting, making sure that Farrah Franklin gets wounded by her snatched waist. Beyoncé pairs her chrome dress with matching opera gloves - that are also metallic - metallic pumps, dangle diamond earrings, and for a splash of color, red nail polish.
For her second debut of her film, Beyoncé chose a more dark and gothic look. For her second look, she wears a Thom Browne double breasted jacket, with shoulder pads. The jacket's back has extra material to make a medium length train. The jacket itself has shimmery, matte black sequins stitched onto it. For bottoms, Beyoncé wears a plain black bodysuit with a star embellished on the crotch area. Her shoes are where the outfit turns on the more gothic side. Her boots are platform and lace up to her mid-shin. Her boots don’t have any heels, a common occurrence that has recently been seen on the runway. She also wears fingerless leather gloves, as another statement piece to her outfit. Beyoncé accessories with Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry, which include her mid length, diamond encrusted earrings.
For her third and final debut on her silver carpet, Beyoncé goes above and beyond to create an unforgettable look. Weaning Balmain Pre-Fall 2023, she had the internet in a chokehold, making the Swifties question whether their diamond encrusted Lover bodysuits were actually that amazing and revolutionary. Beyoncé’s outfit includes a plain black long, sleeved slip dress, black stiletto platforms, classy black sunnies and diamond jewelry. The star of the show (other than the queen herself) is the enormous breastplate that is diamond encrusted, and features a gigantic blue sapphire in the middle of the breastplate. Just imagine how heavy that is, and there are no support bands in sight. Beyoncé does it all, and still looks glamorous while doing so.
English model and activist Munroe Bergdorf shows her support for Beyoncé by attending the Renaissance Film Premiere. Wearing a completely chrome dress, Bergdorf was certainly on theme. Bergdorfs dress is tight fitting around the torso, and the top of the thighs, then billows out into a beautiful skirt and train, in true mermaid fashion. The torso of the dress has boning that gives the dress more structure and dimension to it. The dress is also made out of a latex material and has a beautiful metallic gloss. Bergdorf accessories with silver stilettos, diamond earrings and a matching diamond encrusted necklace.
AJ Odudu is a British television presenter and has starred in many television series such as The Bridge, The Greatest Auction, and Celebrity Big Brother: 2018. Odudu takes a different approach to the chrome theme that Beyoncé had requested. Instead of wearing an all-chrome dress, Odudu wears a black dress with dainty silver embellishments. Some of these embellishments have diamond encrusted chains that link to other embellishments on the dress. The dress is intricately beaded and has a smooth gradient that goes from silver to pitch black. Odudu accessories with simple rings, matching dainty earrings and an even daintier flower necklace.
Winnie Harlow, one of America’s favorite supermodels, and activist of the skin condition vitiligo has blessed the chrome carpet. Much like Odudu, Harlow chose to approach the chrome theme differently. Harlow wears a dramatic black off-the- shoulder puff-sleeved top, with a velvet corset around her torso, black pants, and black heels with large bows with silver accents on the top of her heel. The look is extremely simple, but a simple look does not mean basic. In fact, more is less. Harlow accessories with diamond rings and small diamond studs.
After undergoing some rapid fire from the internet over allegations brought to light by her backup dancers, Lizzo has returned from her short retreat off of social media, and attended the Renaissance Film Premiere. Much like Odudu and Harlow, Lizzo decided to approach the chrome theme from a different angle. Instead of wearing any chrome at all, Lizzo wears an all white outfit, put together by Harry Hamlin. The all white outfit consists of a cropped tank top with a high waisted skirt that has ruffles over the seaming of the skirt. The skirt is a throwback for some, as it is a gladiator skirt. Gladiator skirts had a chokehold on girls and women alike during the 2010’s. Lizzo’s outfit also features an oversized white coat with the same ruffle pleating on the seaming. She accessories with white lace-up heels and diamond jewels.
Being in the music industry since 2010 definitely has its perks. Writing 90% of Ariana Grande’s discography, and her own songs, Victoria Monét has made a large impact in the music industry, whether we realize it or not. Attending the Renaissance Film Premiere in a custom dress by Theophilio, Monét added a different splash of color to the chrome themed event. The dress is red, and features a deep red, one piece corset, complete with boning and back lacking. The dress also features a sheer hood and skirt element. The skirt is floor length, and billows out to create a medium length train. This is one of the more bright and defined looks of the premiere, and also one of the most unique.
Rising to fame in the late 1990’s as part of Destiny’s Child, and playing a significant role in the early 2k’s hip hop and R&B scene, it is only fair that Kelly Rowland attends the Renaissance Film premiere. Rowland wears a chrome mermaid dress with pleats embedded into the torso to give the dress more texture. The skirt of the dress has a scalloped bottom and falls just above the ankle. The chest of the dress is shaped to look like a staple of the 40’s; a bullet bra. Rowland accessorizes with simple silver heels, diamond rings, and diamond studs.
