We are pleased to invite all researchers, young scholars, students, practitioners and experts in nutrition, health and related areas from all over the world to attend the 1st International Conference on Sustainable Health and Nutrition during the Life Cycle held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 19-21 March 2024.
Temos o prazer de convidar todos os pesquisadores, jovens acadêmicos, profissionais, especialistas e estudantes de nutrição, saúde e áreas afins de todo o mundo para participar da 1ª Conferência Internacional sobre Saúde e Nutrição Sustentável durante o Ciclo de Vida, realizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, entre os dias 19 e 21 de março de 2024.
The Conference provides a platform to discuss and share knowledge on Sustainable Health and Nutrition to bring a unique forum for exchanging information regarding the latest developments, finding solutions, and enriching the knowledge about sustainable health and nutrition during the life cycle. In addition to national and international speakers in thematic sessions, debates and presentations, the conference also offers a unique place to renew professional relationships and provide many networking opportunities during the event and for the future.
A Conferência proporciona um espaço para discutir e partilhar conhecimentos sobre Saúde e Nutrição Sustentáveis, proporcionando um fórum único para a troca de informações sobre os últimos desenvolvimentos, encontrando soluções e enriquecendo o conhecimento sobre saúde e nutrição sustentáveis durante o ciclo de vida. Professor Berit Lilienthal Heitmann, The Parker Institute, Denmark
Berit Lilienthal Heitmann is a professor in Nutrition Epidemiology at the Department of Public Health at Copenhagen University and a visiting professor at The Charles Perkins Centre at Sydney University. She is also Research Director for the Unit for Dietary Studies at the Frederiksberg and Bispebjerg Hospital. Professor Heitmann has spent more than 3 decades examining the early causes and later consequences of obesity with a specific focus on preventing and treating obesity (RCTs) among children and adults. Recent research contributions include the 5-year EU-Horizon2020 project NoHoW (www.nohow.eu), that tested in a European RCT, an IT-based toolkit to help individuals wishing to keep a recent successful weight loss over the long term; A randomised primary overweight prevention intervention HealthyStart (www.sundstart.nu) that examined drivers of excessive weight gain among healthy weight children and the ongoing 24 mio Euro LightCOM project (www.regionh.dk/lightcom/english/Pages/default.aspx)
Professor Amanda Rodrigues Amorim Adegboye, Associate Director of Research and Engagement, Coventry University
As a seasoned Professor in Nutrition with two decades of experience in Higher Education across the UK and globally, my expertise spans teaching and research. My focus areas encompass food security, dietary acculturation, indigenous foods, food waste, circular economy, evidence synthesis, and intervention design. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Research and Engagement at Coventry University. She spearheads impactful research initiatives targeting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) issues. Prof Adegboye also champions a knowledge base that benefits marginalised communities while fostering engagement with external stakeholders.
Professora Rosely Sichieri, Instituto de Medicina Social, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro
Possui graduação em Medicina pela Faculdade de Ciências Médicas de Botucatu (1976), especialização em Saúde Pública pela Universidade de São Paulo (1978), mestrado em Ciências (Fisiologia Humana) pela Universidade de São Paulo (1981) e doutorado em Nutrição em Saúde Pública pela Universidade de São Paulo (1988). Realizou Pos-doutorado em Epidemiologia em 1990 no NIH- USA e em 2002 e 2012 na Harvard School of Public Health. Atualmente é professora titular da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Tem experiência na área de Nutrição, com ênfase em Análise Nutricional de População, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: obesidade, adolescentes, sobrepeso, nutrição e consumo alimentar. Graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Botucatu (1976), specialization in Public Health from the University of São Paulo (1978), Master's degree in Science (Human Physiology) from the University of São Paulo (1981) and PhD in Nutrition in Public Health from the University of São Paulo (1988). She completed a post-doctorate in Epidemiology in 1990 at the NIH-USA and in 2002 and 2012 at the Harvard School of Public Health. She is currently a full professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She has experience in the area of Nutrition, with an emphasis on Population Nutritional Analysis, working mainly on the following topics: obesity, adolescents, overweight, nutrition and food consumption.
Dr Miaobing (Jazzmin) Zheng, Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition, School of Exercise and Nutrition Science, Deakin University, Australia
Dr Zheng is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN), Deakin University. She is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutrition Epidemiologist with in-depth knowledge in dietary assessment and biostatistics. Dr Zheng’s current research focuses on applying innovative statistical and machine learning approaches to understand the role of dietary and behavioural factors in the early origins of health and diseases including obesity, cardiovascular disease, and emotional behavioural problems. Her research is supported by an Australian National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Early Career Research Fellowship and an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (ARC DECRA) fellowship. She is the co-lead of the “Promoting health in the first 2000 days” research group within IPAN.
Professor Walmir Coutinho, Pontifical Catholic University (PUC) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
is Professor of Endocrinology at PUC-RJ where he co-ordinates the Post-Graduation course of Endocrinology. He received his Master Degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and the PhD from the Federal University of São Paulo. Professor Coutinho has authored or co-authored over 70 scientific papers, mainly related to pharmacological treatment of Diabetes and Obesity, Psychoneuroendocrinology and Metabolic Complications of Obesity. He is past-President of Brazilian Association for the Study of Obesity and Latin American Federation of Obesity Societies. He helped to develop in Latin America long standing initiatives, linking medical societies to governments for the prevention and management of chronic diseases in the continent, which included multi-governmental collaboration. He is Past-President of World Obesity Federation (www.worldobesity.org), formerly IASO and President of next ICO (International Congress on Obesity, to be held in São Paulo, 26-29 June 2024.
Prof Patricia de Carvalho Padilha. Instituto de Nutrição Josué de Castro, Josué de Castro, Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
Patricia Padilha holds a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the Josué de Castro Nutrition Institute (INJC) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where she holds the position of associate professor and leader of the Nutrition and Pediatrics Research Center (NUTPED), linked to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics - maternal and child sector, and develops its care activities at the Instituto de Puericultura e Pediatria Martagão Gesteira (IPPMG/UFRJ), including participation in an outpatient clinic for nutritional support and diabetes. As a researcher, the professor is accredited to the Postgraduate Program in Nutrition at INJC/UFRJ and in the Master's Program in Maternal and Child Health at IPPMG/UFRJ, and since 2020 she has been a Research Productivity fellow at CNPq. She is currently the coordinator of the Integrated Multiprofessional Residency Program in Child and Adolescent Health at IPPMG / UFRJ. She has experience in the field of Nutrition, with an emphasis on pediatric nutrition, working mainly on the following topics: nutritional therapy in paediatrics, clinical nutrition in paediatrics, childhood obesity and nutrition applied to chronic diseases in paediatrics.
