Event Times and Information

Mardi Gras Project Based Learning Celebration Event

"Every spring, leading up to the Mardi Gras break, our students take part in a project-based learning unit linked to a school-wide theme. Each class comes up with a driving question to research, collaborate, and construct a solution to an authentic problem. The unit is connected to content standards and takes 2-3 weeks to complete. At the end of the unit, each class celebrates with a Mardi Gras parade showcasing their theme. Please join us at our annual Mardi Gras event as we 'Parade through the Parishes!'"

DRESS FOR EVENT WEEK

The dress days for event week will be the following:

  • Thursday, Feb 8: Mardi Gras shirt or Mardi Gras colored shirt with uniform bottoms
  • Friday, Feb 9: PARADE DAY! Theme dress with your class following free dress guidelines. Please dress your child warm with appropriate outerwear even if it covers their theme wear. We want them to be comfortable for the event!
