Theater Jay's Mission

The Theatre Jays are dedicated to bringing the magic of performance to the youth of Merrill. Our summer camp aims to inspire a lifelong passion for the arts while fostering enduring friendships that extend well beyond the stage. Through engaging, hands-on activities, students will develop essential life skills, including:

  • Articulate Communication: Learning to speak with clarity and confidence.
  • Creative Expression: Exploring emotions through vocal and physical storytelling.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with peers to bring a production to life.
  • Confidence: Gaining self-assurance through movement and performance.

Camp Outline

Campers will explore the multifaceted world of theater through interactive games and live performance. Students will collaborate in small teams—each with their own unique group identity—to create and produce a custom commercial for an original object they’ve designed. The week concludes with a showcase featuring these creative commercials and a captivating performance based on a classic children’s book.
