Katarina Gryvul

Katarina Gryvul is a professionally trained composer, violinist, music producer and educator. After completing her formal studies, she transitioned her focus to electronic music, blending her classical training with avant-garde sounds to develop a distinctive sonic identity.

Gryvul’s compositions revolve around timbre as a primary element, fusing her classical roots with innovative approaches to sound design.

Her work often incorporates live electronics for instruments and voice, analog synths, alongside spatial audio, creating an immersive soundscape. In addition to her artistic practice, Katarina is the founder of Gryvul School, an initiative dedicated to sharing her expertise with musicians worldwide. The school supports students and professionals, encouraging their growth and exploration of new possibilities.

Gryvul studied in Lviv and Krakow at the Music Academy - violin performance and composition. currently, she is studying Computer music and sound art at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.

Gryvul is a member of the first Ukrainian music catalog, a participant of Gaude Polonia — a scholarship program of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland. She took part in the 37th General Assembly of the International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music, has received the Presidential Scholarship of Ukraine for young artists and writers, won the Grand Prix for Music and Sound Design "Power of Young", and was selected as an artist for the SHAPE+ platform 2022/2023.

Katarina has performed at various festivals, including: Lunchmeat Festival, CTMNuits Sonores, Ephemera by Unsound Festival, Rewire, Ars Electronica, Musikprotokoll + more.
