Nothing like a decent breakfast to start the day and our accommodation obliged with one, although it didn’t start until 8:30! Oh well, it’s a very short walk into Laredo, so we can relax and enjoy a late start and treat it like a rest day.
We took the coastal route, whilst we had planned this route it was strongly encouraged by our young host at breakfast time who went on and told us that she walked this route regularly and we must as the coastal views are spectacular, particularly when the sun should be shining.
We managed to get away just before 10:30am (what would our Amigo’s think?) and took our time as we meandered along enjoying the views along the coast and before long had Laredo in full view. Before descending, we approached a very grand estate in years past, gone to rack and ruin which Jenny decided would make a great location and grand restoration project for a place for us to live. It was perched high on the hilltop with spectacular views over the coastline and township below. Unfortunately as we passed, someone else had the same idea and was already in full swing with tradies chipping away at what would be a very expensive and painstaking project. Would love to see the result in a few years time!
Laredo is another great seaside town with a very long beach where we spent the rest of the afternoon people watching and snoozing before it was time to think about getting ready for dinner.
