About the Lute Men: The Lutes notched a pair of dual meet wins while Tyler Tanaka was tabbed the NWC Swimmer of the Week to open up the competitive 2023-2024 season.
PLU powered past Willamette 117-72 in the opener before downing Lewis & Clark 113-71 the following day. Tanaka was one of four Lutes to win six events over the weekend, joining teammates Khosbayer Amgalan, Devin Stanley, and Na'inoa Loo.
About the Lute Women:Jessica Ordaz won NWC Swimmer of the Week after winning six races in her return to the team, powering the Lutes to a pair of dual meet wins to open the season.
PLU needed every point it could get in Friday's 103-102 win over Willamette before breezing to a 128-56 victory over Lewis & Clark on Saturday.
Ordaz won six events and owns the fastest time in the NWC in three of those events while Emma Gassman made her Lute debut in style, winning five events over the two days.
