A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

The new year is here, and with it comes the excitement of new opportunities and the rapid approach of the semester's end. This is a wonderful time to reflect on the incredible journey our students and families experience throughout K-12 and to celebrate the milestones along the way. For parents of seniors, this is a season filled with pride and reflection as you witness the culmination of years of hard work, the accomplishment of goals, and cherished memories. Parents of 8th graders are on the brink of an exciting new chapter, with high school offering endless opportunities for growth and discovery. Parents of 4th graders are celebrating the progress their children have made while preparing for the exciting transition to middle school, a time of curiosity, significant maturation and development, and, of course, new experiences. No matter where you are on this journey, you are never alone. Our schools are filled with caring, passionate professionals who are deeply committed to supporting your student(s) and your family every step of the way. Together, we are building the 1Warrior community, one that encourages, supports, and empowers every student to achieve awesome things. The partnership between our schools and families is at the heart of everything we do, and we are truly grateful for the trust, collaboration, and support you bring to our district. Together, we are living our mission of every student learning, growing, and succeeding.  Let’s celebrate the accomplishments of the first semester, and look ahead with excitement and optimism for what’s still to come. Thank you for your incredible support. It is such an important part of what makes the Muskego-Norway School District a truly special place to be a part of.

Compass Nomination Information

2026 Compass Nominations are now being accepted! We have been recognizing staff with the Compass Award since 2008. This year, we are excited to align the nomination criteria with our updated Strategic Plan. The Compass allows our system to reinforce and recognize staff who, through their commitments and contributions, ensures that every student is learning, growing, and succeeding. Specifically, the Compass honors staff members who meet designated criteria in the following areas:

  1. Academic Excellence and Life Readiness: The candidate goes above and beyond to ensure students master essential knowledge and skills while also being prepared to thrive beyond the classroom. Learners are provided a strong academic foundation, personal and career skills. Critical thinking, empathy, and engagement are fostered and used to empower students to reach their goals.
  2. Student Wellness and Belonging: The candidate goes above and beyond to ensure students feel safe, supported, and connected. They support a student's emotional well-being while fostering strong relationships and opportunities to connect with students. Actions create a positive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
  3. Wellness, Development, and Retention: The candidate goes above and beyond to focus on the well-being of our students and/or staff. They are invested in professional learning, support the wellness of themselves and others, and help to create a culture where others feel valued and engaged.
  4. Operational Sustainability & Strong Family and Community Connections: The candidate goes above and beyond to allow our district to be forward-thinking and community-focused. A focus on sustainable and innovative operations with staff and/or students allows the system to maximize resources which support student learning, establish partnerships with families, and engagement in the community.

Please consider nominating a staff member for the 2026 Compass. The application form is available on our website and linked HERE. Each potential recipient must have a minimum of three (3) nominations and a maximum of four (4) nominations.  Nominations can come from students, staff members, parents, and/or community members.  Each person nominating a candidate for The Compass Award must fill out the Google form individually.
