ARTEXPRESS nominations
HSC Visual Arts
Two incredibly talented HSC Visual Arts students — Leo and Indigo — received nominations for ARTEXPRESS. This recognition celebrates their exceptional achievements in the practical component of the HSC Visual Arts exam.
As with all HSC assessments, the practical works are meticulously marked by experienced Visual Arts teachers who expertly apply the marking criteria. During this process, any exemplary works that met the syllabus outcomes and demonstrated a high level of achievement, were selected for nomination.
This is an incredible honour for our BBHS students and their amazing art teacher Mrs Margo Simpson. We couldn’t be more proud of them all for their unwavering dedication, hard work and creativity!

HSC Music showcase
Two of our very talented, driven and focused musicians, Leo R and Tess K were nominated for ENCORE, the state-wide NSW Music showcase in Sydney, for their Individual HSC Music performances! ENCORE presents a selection of outstanding major works by HSC Music students in NSW including performance and musicology and it is a great honour to be nominated for this showcase.
Students in NSW who performed at an exceptional level on the day of their HSC Music performance examination were nominated by the external NESA markers if their work met or exceeded a certain standard.
Leo and Tess, and their amazing Music teacher Mr Baker, deserve this outstanding recognition for their achievements.
The benefit and rewards of belonging to the Byron Bay High School community are further reaching than HSC results. The personal journey of excellence in collaboration with peers and staff on the Arakwal Land creates brilliant leaders of our future.
Thank you for you contribution to our high school. Ms. Janine Marcus Principal Byron Bay High School
