Year 12 2025 Academic Ceremony The 2025 Year 12 Academic Recognition Ceremony was held on Thursday 5 February 2026, celebrating the outstanding achievements of our HSC students. We are proud to announce Ella Sharp as the 2025 Dux, having earned three Band 6s and two Band 5s. Congratulations also to our Distinguished Achievers: Jackson Clark and Brendon Doyle, as well as our High Achievers: Mia Brownjohn, Heidi Corliss, Scarlett George, Lily Harding, Sage Monniot-Kerr, Charlotte O’Neill, LouLou Taylor, and Aksel Wilson.  We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire 2025 Year 12 cohort for their academic excellence and personal growth, and wish them every success in their future endeavours.   Supporting Regular School Attendance Attending school every day allows your child to get the most out of their learning and improve their career and life options. This includes attending school on Sporting days and Carnivals. Regular school attendance can help expand your child’s learning and create positive relationships with their peers. If you require support in getting your child ready and motivated for school, please reach out to us. Whilst we appreciate there will be times families have urgent needs, appointments should be booked outside of school times, where possible.   Swimming Carnival The swimming carnival on 9 February was an important day on the school calendar and a welcome return to a daytime event. Students competed with great effort, and six long-standing records were broken. It was a successful day that brought the school community together and celebrated our students' achievements.   Evacuation Drill – Term 1 2026 We conducted an Evacuation Drill in Week 3. The drill is an essential part of our safety and risk management strategy, ensuring that both students and staff are prepared in case of an emergency and familiar with evacuation procedures. We run practice drills throughout the year to ensure everyone knows what to do in an emergency situation. These planned drills are no cause for concern. Please reassure your child that this is only a practice. During Term 2 we will hold a Lockdown Drill and in Term 3 a Bushfire Evacuation Drill.  We do not plan any drills for Term 4. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated as we strive to maintain a safe environment for our students and staff.   School Photos School photo order envelopes have been given to all students. If your student did not receive one, please contact the school’s front office. School Photos are scheduled for Monday 2 March 2026.   Open Night (all years) We encourage all parents to join us for the upcoming Open Night on Thursday 5 March 2026 from 5:30pm. This event is an important part of the school transition process, offering a great opportunity to meet teachers, learn more about the school, and explore our facilities. We look forward to welcoming everyone, including new prospective families for Year 7 in 2027 and beyond. Further information will be shared soon!   Year 7 2026 Camp Kingscliff High School is excited to offer a camp for Year 7 2026 students.  The Term 1 Year 7 Camp is a key part of our transition program. It plays an important role in helping students build friendships, develop confidence, and settle into high school life in a positive and supportive environment. This is an invaluable experience and attendance at the Year 7 Camp is strongly encouraged as part of the transition to high school. It will be held from 9-11 March 2026 at Tyalgum Ridge Retreat. If you feel there is anything preventing your child’s participation in the Year 7 camp, please be in touch with Ms Shackell or Mr Reid as soon as possible.     NAPLAN – Week 7 – 16-20 March 2026 The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual online assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 across Australia. It is the only national test that all Australian students have the opportunity to undertake. ACARA supports inclusive testing to ensure every student can participate. NAPLAN complements, but does not replace, ongoing teacher assessments and provides valuable information about students’ educational progress. More information will be in the next newsletter.   Wishing all of our school community a great week.
