Planning Our Future. Together.
Move 2050 is a roadmap for how we move, connect, and invest in the Alexandria-Pineville metropolitan planning area's transportation system through the year 2050.
What is Move 2050?
Move 2050 is an initiative to update the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) for the Alexandria-Pineville Metropolitan Planning Organization. The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is a long-range transportation strategy that will guide public investment and regional mobility improvements in the Alexandria-Pineville Metro Area through the year 2050.
As the official regional planning document required by federal law, the MTP ensures transportation decisions are made in a coordinated, data-driven, and community-informed manner. It includes strategies for roads, transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, freight, and safety the region's transportation system.
