In case you missed it last month, Goering Center President Carol Butler was recently featured on Mark Dorman’s podcast, Finish Big – The Podcast. Maximizing your Goering Center Membership: Words from our Membership Team

Thoughts on Maximizing Membership:

Membership in the Goering Center is just the beginning of the company’s investment for its leaders and employees. It’s a gateway for the entire company to gain access to the incredibly impactful learning programs and events we offer, connect with peers and to help build our regional business community with like-minded people. We strongly encourage owners to share the rationale of their decision to intentionally align itself with the Center to help build development opportunities for their team(s).

What does Membership Mean to You?

Membership to the Goering Center, to me, means a family or private business owner making a commitment to themself, their family, their business, their employees, their stakeholders, and their community to utilize the resources the Goering Center provides as it relates to education, connection and community in order to grow and strengthen their business.

What makes a great leader?

Many say the ability to understand others makes the biggest difference, but true connection with people begins with understanding oneself.

The Goering Center is excited to partner with Leadership Excelleration again in 2025 to bring you the first Leadership Development course that focuses not only on one’s impact with the team, but also how to better tailor their reactions to peers through a comprehensive understanding of themself.

The Overview is an opportunity for leaders and future leaders to explore the Leadership Development Institute™ and determine if the program is right for them and their team members. Through 10, half-day sessions spanning from March to November, leaders will come to better understand themselves and those around them, boosting company culture and productivity along with one’s innate skills.

Program Recap:

Our 25th Class of Next Generation Institute has Begun!

The Next Generation Institute (NGI) provides a unique opportunity for family businesses to take a proactive approach to transition planning. Over the course of this 12-session program, 10 family-owned businesses will embark on a journey to build a solid foundation for future leadership and ownership transitions. Through NGI, these businesses gain access to invaluable resources that support strategic, emotional, and financial aspects of planning for generational transition.

We are fortunate to be joined by an exceptional team of volunteers, seasoned professionals and family business transition experts, who are always available to share their time and insights. Their dedication has allowed the Goering Center to provide a world-class educational experience while still holding the values we were founded on close to heart. From guiding participants through potential challenges to helping them seize opportunities unique to family-owned enterprises, their expertise helps drive us forward!

This collaborative effort creates an environment where participating businesses can confidently prepare for the future while preserving their legacy. Together, we are able to foster growth, sustainability and harmony within these families and their businesses for generations to come.
