Situational Leadership II (SLII)
Facilitator: Brian McClure
Situational Leadership is a model for developing individuals to their highest level of performance. SLII is based on the relationship between an individual’s development level on a specific goal or task and the leadership style the leader provides. Effective leadership lies in matching the appropriate leadership style to the individual’s development level. When leaders are Situational Leaders, they partner with their people, working side by side to align on goals, development levels, and leadership styles. This contributes to higher trust, positive intentions, and significant results.
This course in Situational Leadership will help you:
- Clarify intentions – defining and agreeing on goals or tasks
- Diagnose competence and commitment on specific goals or tasks
- Give or get the leadership style needed to increase competence and commitment
- Get peer feedback to improve your leadership style flexibility
The course is about 8 hours – 2 days, 4 hours each day, which includes interactive lecture, practical exercises, peer coaching, role-play, and case studies. The course is designed not merely to disseminate information or to teach a model, but to allow you the opportunity to put that model into practice in a lab setting. The pre-work for the course will be reading of a short article, and filling out two short self evaluation questionnaires.
Getting to the Heart of Roman Catholicism
Facilitator: Reid Karr
Roman Catholicism and its theology and practice are vast and intimidating subjects. It's difficult to know where to start to begin to wrap one's mind around the vastness of Roman Catholicism. Many evangelicals have a difficult time clearly articulating what is at stake with Roman Catholic theology and practice. It is, therefore, a theological blindspot for evangelicals. Yet many of our European personnel work in majority Roman Catholic contexts, so not knowing much about it is inexcusable from a gospel perspective. Getting to the Heart of Roman Catholicism will provide basic tools for understanding RC theology and practice, and know what is at stake concerning the gospel.
Identity and the Missionary
Facilitator: Seba Vazquez
It's human to feel good about ourselves when things are going well in ministry and to beat ourselves us when we're struggling. It's also common to feel a tug between different roles we are given in life. Join us as we explore the difference between your foundational and functional identities but how they can work together in tension.
Developing Women in the M Task
Facilitator: Joy Price and her Local Partner
Join us for an interactive lab on women in entry and evangelism! In this lab, we'll delve into valuable resources, discuss some evangelism tools, and exchange ideas to support you in the work, no matter what stage of life you’re in. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about God’s work across our affinity, share insights, and equip yourself with fresh resources and ideas—all while celebrating the vital role women play in advancing God's kingdom. Come ready to share your tools and resources as we discuss in small groups. Men are welcome to participate and share how God is using the women on their teams! We hope to see you there!
Lodging and Logistics
To maximize who can come to Labs, we have adopted a shared-cost model. To attend, we are asking participants to pay for travel to and from the location, lodging, and evening meals from either local budgets, ministry gifts, or partner sponsorship.
Location: Immanuel Baptist Church, Madrid, Spain
All other Lab-related costs, including lunches, snacks, and swag, will be provided! (Your lab facilitator will be in contact with special instructions about any additional items you might need to purchase.)
What’s On the Horizon?
The Labs we offer are constantly in development and adapted to the feedback we receive from you! In general, though, we are always looking for experiential learning that we can make available to you and your local partners to help you develop strategically, spiritually, and personally.
