Congrats to Senior Caleb Boyce for Capturing First Place in Idaho in the Western Governors' Foundation "Celebrate the West" Art Contest and Advancing to Nationals

Senior Caleb Boyce, student of Boise High art teacher Katy Shanafelt, won the state level of competition in the Western Governors' Foundation "Celebrate the West" art contest for his painting of the Owyhee canyonlands, titled "Storm Front" - a 48" x 36" oil painting. He won $200 as a state finalist, and his work is moving up to the national competition level.

Boise High Theater Presents Annual One-Act Festival This Wednesday through Saturday

Attention Boise High. This week The Washington Street Players present their final production of the year. So take a study break and join us as we present our annual One-Act Festival. The three short comedies are completely student produced, directed and acted. The show runs Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Micro Theatre starting at 7PM. Don't miss it!

Brave varsity tennis beat Centennial 11-1 and Eagle 7-5 last week. Fisher Andrews was player of the match against Eagle. On Friday and Saturday, the team battled through some tough matches and played great in the annual Capital Classic Tournament, which fielded 33 different teams from Idaho, Washington, and Oregon at 12 Treasure Valley locations. Today varsity and JV face Kuna for the last regular season matchup. The JV district tournament is this Saturday, May 3. Varsity districts start Monday, May 5 and run through next week.

Each week you will receive an email with the Brave Weekly on Tuesdays with school information and updates as well, created by our wonderful Brave Booster Club. School Social Worker Our School Social Worker is Sherry Tipping, and she can be reached at 208-854-4290, via email at sherry.tipping@boiseschools.org, or by text (school hours only) at 208-907-6517. Ms. Tipping is here to support students with social/emotional needs, and offer small groups and resources as needed. Ms. Tipping is also available to families that are struggling and, if unable to help them directly, can link them to community resources. For students/families that are housing displaced, she can assist with school needs, transportation to/from school, school meals and accessing community resources.
