At this festive time of the year we send good wishes to you, your colleagues, friends and families.
We know many of you will be working during the festive season and we honour the work you do.
Whatever your role and whatever contribution you are making or have made to nursing and caring for babies, children, young people and their families, we thank you for your work.
We wish you a happy festive season and hope that 2026 brings you happiness, joy and all good things.
A Little Festive Cheer for Children’s Nurses
From schools and GP surgeries to ED’s festive rush, From PICU lights to clinics where things often feel so tough. Our nurses bring the magic, the calm expertise, the joy, the cheer, For children and their families through every day and year. And students on their journey, with textbooks piled high, Are dreaming of the moment they join this brilliant tribe. So here’s a jolly thank you, you shine in all you do, Children's Nurses are a sparkling gift to every child across the UK through and through!

Appointment of Deputy Chair
We are delighted to be announce that Kath Evans has been appointed our Deputy Chair.
Kath joined the Governance and Development Group in March 2025 bringing her sense of humour with her along with extensive knowledge, skills and experience in clinical practice, education and leadership roles.
Jean A Davies, Chair of the ABPN welcomed Kath to the role saying that she knows Kath "will support the ABPN to drive forward important actions relating to the issues of nursing care and service improvement identified by ABPN members”.
On hearing about her appointment Kath said:
“I’m honoured to take on the role of Deputy Chair of the ABPN. Children’s nurses bring incredible insight and are phenomenal advocates for babies, children, young people and their families. I’m passionate about ensuring their voices are heard and their expertise recognised. Working in partnership with colleagues across other professional organisation, the voluntary sector and beyond, we can continue to influence care, shape policy and improve experiences for children and families across the UK.”
Reminder about our Annual General Meeting and World Cafe
You are all warmly welcomed to join our Annual General Meeting and World Cafe.
Members will be able to join the AGM in-person or remotely (details to follow). Our venue has been chosen to be comfortable for those who attend in person and will have great IT and connectivity for those joining remotely. Where:

- When: 24th March 2026
Our AGM will start at 11am, then we will have lunch followed by our World Cafe.
Building on a recent webinar, our World Café is titled ‘Preparing, educating and developing the children’s nursing workforce for the future’
