Fourth Grade Students Continue Creative Clay Work

Fourth grade students continued their clay project thanks to funding from the Chenango County Council of the Arts. This is the second year the grant has supported the program, giving students another opportunity to build creativity while learning hands-on art skills.

Students worked on their second round of coil pots and showed clear growth in their clay techniques. Many chose to create mugs, carefully shaping and designing each piece with attention to detail. Their enthusiasm for the project was evident throughout the lesson. Students also prepared to add handles as their work progressed. Several shared plans to give their finished pieces to family members, adding special meaning to the project. Once completed, the pieces will be fired and glazed before being returned to students.

Thank you to Ms. Cantrell for securing the grant and leading this engaging learning experience!
