Save with load management
Enroll before summer peak to earn up to $30 in bill credits this fall!
As temperatures rise, so does electricity use across our service area. Air conditioners, water heaters, and other major appliances work harder during the hottest days of the year, creating periods of extremely high demand on the electric grid. Central Georgia EMC’s (CGEMC) Load Management Program helps reduce peak demand while providing savings for participating members. Load Management works by briefly cycling certain equipment, such as air conditioner compressors or water heaters, during periods of highest electricity use. These adjustments are designed to be unnoticeable for most households, but they make a meaningful difference in maintaining reliable service and controlling power costs for all members. Members who enroll in the program may receive up to $30 a year in bill credits with qualifying equipment. Beyond the financial incentive, participation helps reduce strain on the grid during extreme weather and lowers the need for expensive peak power purchases, which can affect future power costs. Because CGEMC is a member-owned cooperative, programs like Load Management directly benefit the communities we serve. When demand is reduced during peak hours, it helps keep energy more affordable and reliable for everyone. Summer is a critical time for managing electricity use. Enrolling before peak season ensures your equipment is ready to participate when demand is highest. To learn more or enroll, visit www.cgemc.com/load-management or call 770-775-7857.
Surge protection for the home
Get peace of mind by protecting your home's major appliances and electronics against damage due to power surges or lightning strikes. CGEMC offers TESCO surge protection devices that help safeguard your home by diverting excess voltage before it reaches your equipment. The TES 240 MSA meter-based surge protector is equipped with diagnostic LEDs, providing clear indication of active protection. Compatible with 120- and 240-volt systems, these devices are available for lease at $5.75 a month plus tax. To learn more, visit www.cgemc.com/surge-protection.
Powering a brighter, cleaner future
Powering your home or business is only part of what we do at Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC). As a member-owned cooperative, we are committed to providing energy solutions that reflect our values, including supporting a brighter, cleaner energy future for the communities we serve. One of the ways we do this is through our Cooperative Solar and Green Energy (Biomass) Programs. These renewable energy options allow members to support alternative energy sources without the cost or maintenance of installing equipment at home. Instead of placing solar panels on your rooftop, you can participate in solar energy that is generated in our region. Our Green Energy program uses biomass—a renewable resource created from natural materials like wood waste—to generate electricity. By incorporating these renewable sources into our overall power supply, CGEMC can reduce reliance on traditional fuel sources while maintaining the reliability and affordability our members expect. Participation in Cooperative Solar and Green Energy helps diversify how electricity is produced, reduces environmental impact, and supports long-term sustainability efforts. It also reflects the cooperative principle of Concern for Community by allowing members to play an active role in supporting responsible energy solutions for future generations. Together, through voluntary programs like these, our membership is helping power progress toward a more balanced and sustainable energy future, one that values innovation, stewardship, and community responsibility. Your choices today help power a brighter, cleaner tomorrow. Learn more at www.cgemc.com under Energy Solutions.

Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation Announces Unclaimed Capital Credits Checks for 2025
CGEMC is a not-for-profit organization. This means any excess revenue, after covering operating costs, is returned to our members in the form of a capital credits check (based on each member’s energy use). In December 2025, CGEMC issued capital credits refund checks. However, some of the refund checks issued were returned by the U.S. Postal Service as undeliverable. A list of the names of these members can be found by visiting our website, www.cgemc.com/capital-credits, or by viewing the list at our corporate office located at 923 S. Mulberry Street, Jackson, GA 30233. If you know the correct address of these individuals or have any helpful information, please contact our office or notify the member to contact us as soon as possible by calling 770-775-7857 or 1-800-222-4877.
Unclaimed Property
Central Georgia EMC is trying to locate parties that had outstanding credit balances as of June 30, 2021. Visit www.cgemc.com/capital-credits for a full list of names. If you know any of the people listed or their heirs, please have them contact our office during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 770-775-7857 or 1-800-222-4877. Unclaimed property will be sent to the State of Georgia if not claimed.
Offering support for our communities
Central Georgia EMC members continue to make a powerful difference in their communities. In the first quarter of this year alone, $49,730 has been awarded through Operation Round Up to support neighbors in need. From organizations like United in Pink Inc. and Special Olympics Georgia to the Humane Society of Morgan County, Anchor of Hope, Rachel's Gift Inc., and Spalding High School, these funds are making a real difference for local families and causes. That impact starts with you. By rounding up your monthly bill to the nearest dollar, you can be part of something bigger than yourself. Enrollment is simple; visit www.cgemc.com to sign up. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations in our service territory are invited to submit an application to the Central Georgia EMC Foundation.
Through Operation Round Up, our members support local organizations with a mission to make our communities even better places to live, work, and dream big. By simply rounding up your monthly electric bill to the next dollar, you can join in! Our pennies add up to make BIG CHANGE!
