Atiya is a Bangkok-born singer-songwriter with Thai and British roots. Raised between two cultures and two worlds, Atiya crafts music that lives at the intersection of R&B, neo-soul, jazz and blues. Her lyrics are emotionally raw and deeply personal, shaped by her belief that every experience - no matter how painful or beautiful - carries a lesson worth singing about.
Matters Of The Heart is the companion track to Atiya's first single of 2026, Balance. The lyrics take you on a soulful journey encouraging you to look inward rather than outward for answers. Atiya is backed by musicians recorded at the all-analogue studio Sugar Town Recordings.
Already a known face on Thai television through her work as an actress, Atiya's musical career began with the single Wake Up, a collaboration with electronic producer MaffMatix. Atiya is now focused on developing her own unique, soulful sound and performs live regularly in Thailand and the UK. Recent shows include Wonderfruit festival 2026 and numerous performances backed by the live band Soulberry. Matters Of The Heart is her second release on UK indie label Sugar Town Recordings, following on from her earlier single Balance.
Atiya says - "This song is all about that all-too-familiar sting of hearing someone you loved has moved on - and choosing to turn inward rather than look outward for answers. It was written and recorded in a single day at Sugar Town Recordings. We started out with the beat and a few chords and I just started to improvise. All the lyrics and melodies came really quickly, which I think is a good sign. I really want to reach people where they are, help them feel seen, and create a space for them to open up and find peace within themselves".
