OV Honorees Recognized at Regional Scholar Recognition Banquet

Otselic Valley senior Wyatt Eaton and mentor Miriah Lawrence were recognized through the 2026 Scholar Recognition Program, which honors outstanding graduating seniors for their academic achievement, leadership, and service to their schools and communities. As part of the program, each student selects a mentor who has made a meaningful and positive impact on their educational journey. Wyatt chose Mrs. Lawrence in recognition of the support, encouragement, and guidance she has provided throughout his years at Otselic Valley. Wyatt and Mrs. Lawrence were honored during a special recognition banquet coordinated by Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES and sponsored by local businesses and community partners from across the region. In his tribute, Wyatt shared that Mrs. Lawrence "teaches from a place of love, acceptance, and understanding" and has created "a truly safe space for her students to be creative and comfortable with themselves." Mrs. Lawrence praised Wyatt for the qualities he brings to the school community, describing him as a student whose authenticity, work ethic, and passion inspire both his peers and younger students.

The Scholar Recognition Program celebrates not only student achievement, but also the meaningful relationships that help students succeed.

Congratulations to Wyatt Eaton and Miriah Lawrence on this well-deserved honor, and thank you both for representing Otselic Valley so well.
