Year 6 Graduation

We had a wonderful celebration on Wednesday of Week 9 to acknowledge our Year 6 Graduates of 2023! Students and their families gathered for this significant and memorable graduation ceremony to celebrate the culmination of an incredible journey. It is with immense pride and joy that we bid farewell to our remarkable Year 6 students.

End of Year Excursion

Year 6 Graduation Ceremony

Playford College thanks families, teachers and supporting staff for their continued support and guidance.

Let us celebrate the achievements of our Year 6 class and we look forward to the bright futures they are destined to create.

Primary School Assemblies

On Tuesday of Week 9, the Primary school concluded the end of year with both a junior and upper primary assembly. The upper primary assembly congratulated Mariam house for winning the 2023 Primary sports day, and recognised students achieving Literacy and Year level Awards.

Premiers Reading Challenge Awards

Congratulations to all Primary School recipients of the Premiers Reading Challenge! This award challenges students to read 12 books during the year, which further encourages reading and improves literacy levels.

Camps/Excursions

Foundations - Gorge Wildlife Park

On Wednesday of Week 8, the Foundation students journeyed on an excursion to Gorge Wildlife Park. Students enjoyed feeding kangaroos, patting koalas and many reptiles!

An array of adventure!

Feeding kangaroos!

Patting koalas!

Patting a bearded dragon and a snake!

Year 4 - Road Safety Centre

On Friday 8th December, the Year 4 students travelled to the Road Safety Centre on Port Rd.

This program was led by an active police officer who taught the students about the rules and laws for driving, riding and walking on the roads. After this session, students were able to practise what they learnt by riding bikes on the mock roadway. They loved putting their learning of road rules into action! It was great to see their happy faces.

The Road Safety Centre is open to the public, during the day on Saturdays and Sundays if you would like to take your family. Remember to bring your own bikes and helmets!

Year 11/12 - West Beach Caravan Park

After their hard work and dedication they displayed throughout the year, the Year 11 and 12 students enjoyed an overnight stay at the West Beach Caravan Park to end the year on a positive note. During the two days, students explored the Governor's House, enjoyed rollerskating, an escape room and beautiful sunsets, as well as eating a plethora of food!

Governor's House Visit

Our 2023 Year 12 students were privileged to have an individual conversation with her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, the Governor of South Australia. She congratulated each of them for attaining their SACE!

Pastoral Care - Laser Tag Gepps Cross

To conclude pastoral care, participating students and staff enjoyed an afternoon filled with laser skirmishes! This was a wonderful opportunity to conclude the term on a positive note, where students continue to grow, learn and create bonds outside the classroom environment.

Secondary School Awards

On Wednesday of Week 9, the Secondary School conducted the end of year awards Ceremony, which recognised the hard work and diligence the students displayed, as evident in their academic excellence for each subject. Character awards were also given to a student in each year level, to recognise their character of effort and attitude to learning throughout the year. Furthermore, special awards included the Student Citizenship Award and the Long Tan Future Innovator and Leadership awards.

Congratulations to Nazish Zahra Abbas on achieving the Student Citizenship Award by Mr Paul Rosenzweig, a representative of the Order of Australia Association

The Community Hub: Open Day

The Community Hub held an open day at the park, with 40 participants, and Principal, Mr Riemann joining too. The day was filled with joy, as they enjoyed games and gifts.
