A group of 7 Mammoths competed at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships from May 23-25 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Eliza Cardwell earned her third career All-American honors, placing seventh in the 100 Hurdles and broke her own School Record in the event in the prelims, running a time of 14.07 Seconds!

Day 1
Emma Ramsingh competing in the Discus
Discus
Emma Ramsingh competed in the first flight of the Discus and after fouling her first throw, Emma improved with each attempt! On her second throw, Emma threw a mark of 40.39 meters (132' 6") and on her third throw, she threw a mark of 43.29 meters (142' 0")! This placed Emma third in her flight and 12th overall, placing the highest of all first years in the event! By placing 12th, Emma earned Second Team All-American honors!
Julia Schor (6) competing in the 1,500 Meters
1,500 Meters
Julia Schor competed in the second heat of the 1,500 meters and put herself in the mix with the pack. The pace was slow for the first two laps and then began to pick up for the final two laps. Julia was in eighth place with two laps to go and sensing the fast pace, she quickly moved into seventh place. In the final 100 meters, she kicked past a competitor to move into sixth place! Julia crossed the finish line in sixth place in a time of 4:36, placing fourteenth overall, earning Second Team All-American honors!
Myeh Medina competing in the 400 Hurdles
400 Hurdles
Myeh Medina competed in the first heat of the 400 Hurdles and running out of lane seven, Myeh got out to a fast start! Myeh ran a fantastic race, carrying the momentum from her fast start through the finish line! Myeh placed third in her heat and tenth overall in a personal best time of 1:02.33 seconds! Myeh entered the meet as the 20th fastest entrant and placed tenth, earning Second Team All-American honors!
Day 2
Eliza Cardwell competing in the 100 Hurdles
100 Hurdles
Eliza Cardwell competed in the second heat of the 100 Meter Hurdles Prelims and had a fantastic race, getting out to a great start and running hard through the line! Eliza placed third in her heat in a personal best and School Record time of 14.07 Seconds. Because Eliza ran one of the five fastest non-heat winning times, Eliza advanced to Saturday's final!
Zoë Marcus competing in the 800

Zoë Marcus competed in the first heat of the 800 and she positioned herself well in second place in a fast opening lap of the race! Zoë continued to compete hard and gave it her all, crossing the finish line in fifth place in a time of 2:13, placing her seventeenth overall! Zoë was the only first year to qualify for Nationals in the event!
Parker Boyle (3) competing in the 800
Parker Boyle competed in the first heat of the 800 and the heat got out at a slow pace and Parker found himself in the back of the pack through the first lap of the race. Parker moved up well in the second lap of the race, moving up two places to place fifth in his heat in a time of 1:52! Parker's time placed him ninth overall, finishing as the highest placing first year in the event while earning Second Team All-American honors!
Day 3
Michael Abbey competing in the Triple Jump
Triple Jump
Michael Abbey competed in the first flight of the Triple Jump and after fouling his first jump, he improved with each jump! On his second jump, Michael jumped 14.03 meters (46' 0.5") and on his third and final jump, he jumped 14.42 meters (47' 3.75"), his second best jump ever! Michael placed sixteenth overall, earning Second Team All-American honors!

100 Hurdles Finals
Eliza Cardwell earned a spot in Saturday's 100 Meter Hurdles Final by running one of the five fastest non-heat winning times in the 100 Hurdles Prelims on Friday. Eliza's race was originally scheduled to go off at 4:50 PM and then with some lightning delaying the meet, her race was then projected to go off around 5:10 PM. Right as she was about to compete, lightning struck again and it wouldn't stop for hours, delaying her race until 8 PM.
Eliza returned to the track and competed with poise, running a clean race and crossed the finish line in seventh place in a time of 14.07 seconds, matching her School Record time run the day prior! Eliza earned All-American honors for the third time in her career, an amazing feat!

Eliza capped off an incredible year and season on the All-American podium and showed great resiliency in the outdoor season. Eliza entered Nationals as the seventeenth fastest entrant and she showed up at Nationals, improving her seed by ten places and earned All-American honors!
