Dear Bluejay Family,

Whether it's through helping a classmate, showing kindness on the playground, or volunteering in our community, we encourage our Bluejays to lead with a servant’s heart. In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches His disciples the importance of humility and service, reminding us that greatness is not found in power or position, but in how we care for others. At St. Cecilia, we strive to foster this spirit of service in our students, guiding them to recognize that true leadership is rooted in humility. Just as Jesus placed a child before His disciples, saying, “Whoever welcomes one of these little ones in my name welcomes me,” we remind our Bluejays that every act of kindness, no matter how small, reflects the love of Christ. May we continue to nurture hearts of service in our school and beyond, knowing that by serving others, we serve God.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

Color Run & st. cecilia fund

We are excited to announce that plans are underway for the 9th Annual Color Run that will take place Thursday, October 10th. This year, we have some exciting changes in how students will be able to participate. Businesses and families will still have the opportunity to support our event through sponsorship, but ALL students will be able to participate if we reach our participation goals for the St. Cecilia Fund. No individual registrations will be necessary IF we reach our goals of 70% family participation AND $18,000 for the St. Cecilia Fund.* St. Cecilia families who own a business and sponsor will count towards the family participation goal but will not count towards the $18,000 family goal. We still need your sponsorships for our event.

Our annual appeal is now branded as the St. Cecilia Fund and will be a segmented approach to raise funds toward our operating budget. St. Cecilia will host a Family Giving Week beginning September 30th with a goal of 70% family participation and a dollar amount of $18,000. If you would like to donate early, that works too. Participate now by clicking on the link below. If we reach that goal before the close of Family Giving Week on October 4th, EVERY St. Cecilia student will be able to participate in our 9th Annual Color Run.

Your participation will greatly impact St. Cecilia School. If every family gives at least $55, we will reach our goals. Each family will receive a customized letter in the mail giving more information on the St. Cecilia Fund.

Links to support the St. Cecilia Fund and sponsor this year’s Color Run are below along with opportunities for our students to win prizes and bragging rights. Thank you for supporting St. Cecilia!

*Students will need to complete a waiver in order to participate.

Prizes:

Reach 70% family participation & $18,000 goal - All Students will participate in the 9th Annual Color Run, receive a popsicle and attend the after party on the playground.

FACTS FAQs: Incidental billing and Autopay…what is it?

  • St. Cecilia uses FACTS incidental billing to collect all school-related fees such as field trip fees, after care fees, athletic fees, etc.
  • Once an incidental bill is generated and sent to your account, FACTS will notify you via email and/or text message with the details of the charges. You have the option to click on the link contained in the body of your email (or text) and make a payment for your invoice OR you can simply let FACTS deduct the payment from your financial account on the due date IF you are enrolled in automatic payments for incidental billing.
  • By enrolling in automatic payments, parents have the security of knowing that all of their child(ren)’s school-related fees are paid in a timely manner. In addition, as long as your financial account is accurate with FACTS, you will never incur a $25 late fee (per invoice) for any past due payments.
  • If you would like to confirm your autopay status for incidental billing, please contact Marsha Granger, mgranger@scsbluejays.org or Ann Dugas, adugas@scsbluejays.org for assistance.

Dear Bluejay Family,

We welcomed the first home football game of the season this week as our Bluejays took on Ascension. Both teams dominated the Blue Gators to notch their first divisional victories. The boys had fun as they saw their hard work finally paying off. The cheer squad also did a fantastic job keeping school spirit alive during the games. Our cross country team finished a very respectable 4th place in the League for the first Rebel Challenge of the season. This was many of our Bluejays first time running at Acadiana Park. The coaching staff could not be prouder. Volleyball is entering the home stretch of the season. The final host sites and dates have been selected for the single elimination postseason tournament SCS is hosting the 7th grade quarter and semi final rounds. All of the championship games will be hosted at St. Genevieve on October 14th. To finish the week, our younger Bluejays took to the field on Saturday for their first games of the season.

We have a busy week this week with our 8th Grade Volleyball Night on Tuesday. We are hosting home games of volleyball on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, the cross country team heads back to Acadiana Park for the Rebel Challenge 2. Football is away at Sts. Leo Seton on Thursday at Teurlings. Hello, this is Brooks Badeaux, baseball coach at Teurlings Catholic. I’m having an infield camp beginning Oct. 6 - Oct. 30 every Monday and Wednesday night from 5:30- 7:00. As we get closer to the time change, we may adjust a little on start time if needed. It will be held at the Teurlings baseball field. Cost is $275. The camp will stress the mental and physical aspects of infield play focusing on the fundamentals and footwork needed to play the position properly. There will also be an agility/cardio element to the camp instructing exercises pertinent to proper fielding mechanics. Hope to see y’all there. Thanks. Contact me with any questions (337) 739-6398 or bbadeaux@tchs.net and let me know if y’all plan on attending please.

As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children.
