What Was My Task?
You are an educational technology developer specialising in interactive learning tools quiz** that makes science learning fun, effective, and accessible. You have been commissioned by The Science Department at the Leigh Academies Trust to design and develop an interactive digital quiz that will assess student understanding of Ecosystems and Food Webs.
Your quiz must:
- ✅ Be engaging, interactive, and user-friendly.
- ✅ Test students on key concepts in ecosystems, food chains, food webs, and energy flow.
- ✅ Provide immediate feedback and scoring to help students learn.
- ✅ Be used by science teachers as a classroom assessment tool.
Criteria A
The purpose of the project is to design and create an interactive digital fun quiz that will asses students on there understanding of Ecosystems and Food Webs. There is a need for this quiz because the Science department at Leigh Academy Trust needs to asses there students on Ecosystems and Food Webs. The quiz needs to quiz the students on key concepts in ecosystems, food chains, food webs, and energy flow; however, it must be engaging, interactive, and user-friendly while giving immediate feedback and scoring to help students learn.
When Creating My quiz, the facts that I need to consider are:
- User friendly
- Multiple choice or text
- Game involved - Blooket.com
- Reward system - blooket .com
- Interactive and engaging
- provides feedback to help the student learn
From My Research I Found:
That i want my quiz to have a reward system, to make it interactive and make you want to get the best score to beat your friends score. I also want to make questions with instant feedback so they can learn from their mistakes
CRITERIA B - Developing Ideas
My Success Criteria is:
- 10 questions
- Point System
- Instant Feedback
- Customisable Background
- Hints
- 2 Tries
My First 2 Wire Frame Design ideas
I decided to go with design 2 as even if it might be hard to code it will make it more user friendly.
Criteria C
My Plan For How I Am Going To Make The Quiz:
- Do research on all questions - 5mins
- Put them on a doc - 5 mins
- Create the screen for the questions - ?
- Make put questions into code - ?
- Add code to test for attempts - ?
- Add code for hint to appear - ?
- Add score code - ?
- Do the base frame on vs code - 2.5hr
- Input questions to the frame - 10 mins
- Check for errors - 10 mins
My Final Code:
Find Code In The Google Doc
I made some changes to my plan by formatting the buttons underneath each other as it was more simple and did not add a customisable background as i found it to difficult.
CRIteria D
Q1) While making my quiz i needed to make sure it would work so i had to run the quiz multiple times to make sure their wasn't any errors in the code.
Q2) Tomas: The UI for the quiz is good put the pop ups after every questions is annoying.
Q3) My quiz was very similar to my criteria b however i did make some changes by not adding a customisable background as i found it to difficult.
Q4) I could have improved my quiz by changing the font to one which is easier to read and finding a way to get rid of the popups.
Q5) My project is an interactive fun competitive quiz where students can try be better than their friends and learn at the same time.
