Landmark Men's Basketball 2025-26 Season Preview

2024-25 Recap

Drew University set the program record for victories (24), became the first men’s basketball team to go undefeated in Landmark Conference play (18–0), achieved the first national ranking in team history, and set both a program and conference record with 16 straight wins. The Rangers capped it off by capturing their second Landmark title.

Drew defeated Catholic University, 85–70, in the championship game, with Malcolm Newman earning Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.

Despite falling to Drew in the final, Catholic earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after a 22–5 regular season and strong NPI ranking.

On the National Stage

Drew fell in the first round, 73–58, to Ramapo College.

Catholic made its 16th NCAA appearance in the Division III era and entered the tournament with 17 previous NCAA victories. The Cardinals opened with an 84–50 win at Franklin & Marshall before taking down Randolph–Macon, 79–67, in the second round.

Their biggest moment came against Roanoke, where Catholic erased a 19-point second-half deficit and outscored the Maroons 55–42 to force overtime, eventually sealing the win and advancing to the Elite 8 for just the third time in program history. The Cardinals’ run ended against Trinity (Conn.), finishing the season with 25 wins, which tied for the third-most in program history.
