On 19 November 2025, the Human Reproduction Programme (HRP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on behalf of the UN Violence Against women Inter-Agency Working Group on Estimation and Data (VAW-IAWGED), will be releasing new Violence against women estimates. This social kit aims to raise awareness on different ways to implement respectful care into health systems. HRP, WHO and partners will be:
Providing the most comprehensive and up-to-date data on violence against women to inform policies, guide investments, and monitor progress toward SDG target 5.2 on eliminating violence against women and girls.
Guiding policymakers to accelerate prevention and ensure every woman and girl can live free from violence.

π¨ New global estimates on violence against women released
Violence against women is one of the most widespread human rights violations and a major public health concern.
Our new reportβthe largest study to dateβ provides updated estimates on intimate partner violence (168 countries) and non-partner sexual violence (140 countries).
These estimates will help governments, researchers, and practitioners better understand the scale of the problem, track progress toward SDG target 5.2, and strengthen prevention and response strategies worldwide.

Violence against women is a global public health crisis and a violation of human rights.
