Dear Norse Nation,
Thank you for your support of Northern Kentucky University Athletics. Since the commitment to move to the highest level of college athletics, NKU has delivered on its promise to be highly competitive. Seven Horizon League Championships and seven NCAA National Tournament appearances across all sports including three trips to March Madness and one NIT appearance by the Norse men’s basketball team in just 12 years is a phenomenal start. And we intend to keep it up.
College athletics is always evolving and it is our intention to stay competitive and provide our student-athletes with a transformative collegiate athletics experience. In order to do so, we need to make some changes that mirror the most successful programs in the nation and improve scholarship opportunities for our student-athletes.
One of those changes for the upcoming men’s basketball season is a new season ticketing system that incorporates a contribution to support athletics scholarships for all sports. This is a necessary and responsible change that will make the athletics department more fiscally sound. By implementing this tried and true program, we believe that a vast majority of our season ticket holders and donors will enjoy the benefits of membership, plus gain additional satisfaction in helping their beloved university and supporting wonderful student-athletes.
The good news is that we have a selection of attractive pricing and payment options to meet various budgets and there are options for 100-level and 200-level sections that do not require a contribution. Comparing sections to sections, we are still the best value for high-level NCAA Division I men’s basketball in the Tri-State. Additionally, men’s basketball season ticket holders who make commensurate contributions in sections 101, 102, 103, 110, 111, 112, and courtside, will receive complimentary women’s basketball tickets for the 2024-25 season.
We are excited about this new initiative and believe that it will help us improve scholarship support for our student-athletes while establishing a professional and transparent process consistent with other successful Division I programs across the nation. The new season ticketing system information enclosed will help answer questions. Understanding that change brings challenges, our staff and I look forward to answering any additional questions and hearing your feedback.
Thank you for your continued support of Norse Athletics!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
Why is NKU Athletics undergoing a new men’s basketball season ticket process and price structure?
After a successful first decade of NCAA Division I membership, NKU Athletics’ season ticket seating system is evolving to a system similar to our current and aspirational peers. Similar to those programs, the NKU Athletics’ season ticket seating system brings in resources to support student-athlete scholarships.
How does the process work when renewing my men’s basketball season tickets?
You will receive a mailer with information on renewing your men’s basketball season tickets that includes: the price of the season ticket, the contribution price for your seat location, and the payment plan information.
I have women’s basketball season tickets also. Does this impact my women’s basketball tickets?
Men’s basketball season ticket holders who make commensurate contributions in sections 101, 102, 103, 110, 111, 112, or courtside seats, will receive complimentary women’s basketball season tickets for the 2024-25 season. Following the 2024-25 season, women’s basketball season tickets can be purchased separately and will NOT require a seat contribution.
Can I choose where my contribution goes within the Athletics Department such as scholarships, facilities, or sport-specific?
All contributions tied with men’s basketball season ticket seat locations will go to the Go Norse Fund which funds all our sports’ student-athlete scholarships. There are still opportunities to give for sport-specific needs at other times throughout the year.
Are there different contribution levels for season tickets?
Yes. There are different contribution levels for the center three sections on either side of the court (sections 101, 102, 103, 110, 111, and 112). Please refer to the seat map for price information.
Is a contribution required for all season ticket holders?
No. There are 18 sections that do not require a seat contribution.
I buy season tickets for my children. Is a contribution required for youth season tickets also?
No. Youth season tickets and Kid’s Club are exempt from contributions.
Are there any exclusive events or benefits for donors who make contributions tied with their men’s basketball season tickets?
Yes. Please refer to the contribution benefits chart for details regarding benefits and event opportunities.
I currently give to the Go Norse Fund and have access to the Vault and to Lot O parking. Do I need to give more?
If your seat contribution requirement is less than the minimum to receive access to the Vault and Lot O parking, you would not owe anything additional.
When is the deadline to decide whether I want to renew my men’s basketball season tickets?
July 22, 2024
If I decide to move my season ticket to a different contribution level, what is the process to do that? Will I be able to select my seats?
Relocation appointments will be assigned based on overall Athletics giving level and priority points within your giving level. Those who have no current philanthropic giving to Athletics will be assigned based on order/renewal date.
Are there payment plans?
Yes. Installment plans are available for season tickets and an extended payment structure is available for related contributions through the end of the calendar year.
