To round off the work we have been doing in our reading sessions about Black History Month, we looked at and read the poem, ‘The Undefeated’. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring this text and the imagery within the poem. The illustrations helped our understanding too.
We were also inspired to put up a display in the classroom of all the inspirational people we have read about this month including Bessie Coleman, Martin Luther King and Jess Carter.
In our DT lesson, we worked together to put the finishing touches to our Anderson shelter structures.
Then, it was time for Halloween. We watched a short movie, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ as we were the highest attenders so that was our reward.
We also dressed up for the party afterwards! An improvement for some us…would you agree?
