Here you will find all the volunteering opportunities currently listed with our programme. Many different activities and roles are available throughout the year with a range of commitments, from short term, one-off projects to more long-term, regular opportunities. Make sure you are signed into ICity as most of the roles are accessed through our portal system.
This bulletin is divided into different categories depending on the nature of the opportunity, so you can either scroll down or click on the below links to find those suited to the areas you are interested in:

Offering a tailored service, we work to source roles that are relevant to your degree or career prospects. We can also help you present volunteering on your CV when looking for job opportunities. Activity Assistant

Help people living with brain injuries with activities such as education, cognition, social skills, computing, crafts and more!

We are looking for compassionate, empathetic and committed people to join our volunteering community, supporting isolated people in prison by providing a social connection and a bridge to the outside world.

Groupwork and Training Facilitator Volunteer

We are a charity with services across the Midlands, supporting people affected by alcohol, drugs and gambling. We have over 40 years’ experience providing evidence-based, high quality services to help change behaviour and change lives. We work with adults, young people and families.

Shout Volunteer

At Shout 85258, our trained Shout Volunteers are invaluable and at the heart of everything we do. They are often the first person our texters have spoken to about how they are feeling. They will work to take someone in distress to a calmer place by using our conversation model and skills they're taken through in our online training.

Helpline & Webchat Support Volunteer

At RSVP, we believe that everyone deserves a life free from sexual violence and abuse. We support people who have been subjected to sexual violence and abuse to thrive and enjoy a future of hope and confidence. We boldly stand with survivors and challenge victim blaming attitudes.

Community Engagement Volunteer

Our Community Engagement Volunteers help us ensure that we enable every community across Birmingham to feedback on their experiences of using Health and Social Care services.

Doing Things Differently Volunteer

Support blind and visually impaired adults to safely engage in their chosen activities!

Volunteer Online Tutor

We are looking for volunteers across all subject areas at both GCSE and A-Level. We only require a commitment of an hour per week and we provide all the training that you need!

Speak Out Stay Safe

Visit local schools twice a month and deliver Speak Out Stay Safe workshops to primary school pupils!

Childline Volunteer Counsellor

As a Childline volunteer you'll be there for young people when they feel they have no one else to turn to, by giving a regular shift of up to 4 hours each week at our Birmingham.

IntoUniversity Student Mentor

Mentor one of our students aged 10-17 and support their academic, social and future development.

Online Reading Volunteer

As a Bookmark online volunteer, you could do something incredible by helping a 5-9 year-old learn to read, developing their skills and confidence.

Volunteer Dresser/ Stylist

Smart Works Birmingham is one of 8 centres UK wide and has supported over 2600 women into employment since August 2016. We provide free interview clothing and training for women with a confirmed job interview coming up.
