Here you will find all the volunteering opportunities currently listed with our programme. Many different activities and roles are available throughout the year with a range of commitments, from short term, one-off projects to more long-term, regular opportunities. Make sure you are signed into ICity as most of the roles are accessed through our portal system.

Health, Care & Support Work
Recovery Hub Volunteer
Support our new Young People’s Recovery Hub based in Digbeth with a mixture of group work, training and activities to support the recovery and wellbeing of young people in Birmingham.
Activity volunteer
Help out with activity sessions, from education, cognition, social skills, to computing, crafts and more!
Gym Instructor Volunteer
Could you support inpatients using the onsite hospital gym facilities? (Volunteers must have Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification!)

Birmingham Women’s & Children’s Hospitals Volunteer
This role involves being a friendly face for patients and their families, and giving general, simple and effective advice on a range of topics.
Volunteer Adviser
Talk to clients over the phone, face to face, or online to explore what problems they've come for help with and help them take action to resolve them!
Telephone Advice Line Adviser
Help provide free, confidential, independent, and impartial information and advice on a wide range of issues to people living in the Birmingham area!
Listening Volunteer
Birmingham Samaritans is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team of dedicated listening volunteers!
Shout Volunteer
At Shout 85258, our trained Shout Volunteers are invaluable and at the heart of everything we do. They are often the first person our texters have spoken to about how they are feeling. They will work to take someone in distress to a calmer place by using our conversation model and skills they're taken through in our online training.
Community Engagement Volunteer
Our Community Engagement Volunteers help us ensure that we enable every community across Birmingham to feedback on their experiences of using Health and Social Care services.

As a Childline volunteer you'll be there for young people when they feel they have no one else to turn to, by giving a regular shift of up to 4 hours each week at our Birmingham.

Volunteer Dresser/ Stylist
Smart Works Birmingham is one of 8 centres UK wide and has supported over 2600 women into employment since August 2016. We provide free interview clothing and training for women with a confirmed job interview coming up.
