WHAT IS HONDA CAMPUS ALL-STAR CHALLENGE?
Honda Campus All-Star Challenge (HCASC) provides undergraduate students interested in trivia and knowledge of a wide range of subjects with an opportunity to engage in friendly "quiz bowl" competitions with fellow NCCU students and other Historically Black Colleges. Any registered full-time, first-time undergraduate student can compete for a spot on the varsity team. Four students are chosen to represent NCCU at regional qualifying tournaments, which lead to the HCASC National Championship Tournament (NCT), held every spring in Los Angeles.
Participation in the NCT allows students to earn grants for the university, with the champion receiving $100,000. Students also participate in community service projects, team-building activities, and cultural excursions to museums and places of interest.

Who is eligible for the team?
Any currently registered full-time, first-time undergraduate student is eligible to join the HCASC club and to compete to be on the team.
How can I try out for the team?
Any student who wishes to be considered for the team should take a Power Search Quiz by contacting the Campus Coordinator at 919-530-7620 or cmack@nccu.edu and by joining the HCASC Club.
How is the game played?
The game is divided into four rounds: three individual face-off rounds played with a buzzer and a final Ultimate Challenge ‘lightning’ round. Three team members play per game.
When is the National Championship Tournament?
The annual National Championship Tournament takes place in Torrance, California during the Spring.
What topics are covered?
There are several major categories that cover thousands of topics. Those categories are business, current events, fine arts, general knowledge, geography, history, literature, multi-disciplinary subjects, pop culture, religion, science, social science, sports, and African-American content.
